I had no trouble putting this on my door.
The weatherstripping was perfect for the door. It needed just a little trimming, but was a perfect replacement when done. No more drafts. The most difficult part of the whole process was removing the old weatherstripping. The replacement went in easily.
The hardware / lumber stores you think would have this item don't seem to carry it at the moment, even online. Price was good and installed easily- proper fit.
With some easy trimming to fit the size of the frame, this strip locked in exactly how I wanted it to. Creates a seal that no air can get past. I've used other seals for the door, but if you have a steel door, this is your best bet if you don't want a draft.
It is long enough for larger doors. It is flexible. Good draft protection
I used this product to replace a foam weather stripping. I bought this specifically because I have a metal door frame and could not nail weather stripping in place. The product installed easily. However, after a day or two it began to come loose on the side where my door opens. I had to use an adhesive to keep this magnetic weather stripping in place. That was something I did not want to do. Product is fine overall, but just know magnetic strip is weak and may require adhesive.
The hinge-side seal was too wide, making it impossible to close the door completely.
