This has an overall rating of 4 instead of 5 stars because I felt if it were more robust it'll last even longer under constant use. I've found other more durable but more expensive ($85.00) door sweeps. However, I got this because it does what I need and is far less expensive than the other more robust ones. My home was built in 1925 ergo, the smaller door frame. I'll use it on another door and not the one I originally intended it for. I was trying to shorten it more than recommended by the manufacturer and other users who posted reviews, but ordered it as I wanted to see how it was constructed and determine if perhaps it could nevertheless be modified to fit a smaller than usual door frame. Unfortunately, the spacing of the rivets won't permit shortening it as radically as I hoped. I need 29-1/4 inches which cuts off too much. If you are mechanically inclined and a skilled tinkerer, It is possible to shorten it perhaps as much as 7-inches. This means you drill and relocate the rivets. However those rivets which I think are 1/8" seem longer than the ones available in the hardware stores. Considering the shortness I wanted, the rivets end up in a spot that creates an overlap which jams the spring mechanism.
After cutting to fit door, per the directions, 1 of the 3 hinges was gone and the bottom did not seal. Returned for refund.
