There is a small problem easily overcome, then its a GREAT LOCK. The problem people are having is when you tighten up the screws - the lock jaws move a little closer together (I could not prevent them from moving) which prevents it from locking completely but it sticks a little up into place,,and then you can open it with your fingers. RESOLUTION; I filed a little bit off of the receiver jaw angle (very easy to do - its aluminum receiver) plus use the key turned to 'open' to keep the slider part all the way inside the steel tube - and it works great. I just put this lock onto my Hollondia bike which has pre-threaded lugs just for this lock on the rear down tubes. I'm very happy with it,,,saves a hassling with the coiled locks. I'm giving it 5 stars.
This product is listed as a U lock but it is only a tire lock. The information provided by walmart was insufficient for a customer to determine the function of the lock. I now have a way to make sure no one rides my bike away, but I have no way to lock it to a bike rack because the U is too small.
Can be opened by pulling the ends apart without the key. Looks pretty but that's about it.
