My grand daughter loves her knitting machine. It's so simple and easy, she knitted socks her first day.
The product was great but the shipping was not as expected.
I bought this as a present, before I read any reviews. Read reviews, decided to try it out myself instead of giving it to my daughter as a gift. It is hard to turn and the instructions were wrong. Wouldn't recommend using them, go on youtube and look at how they do it. After watching that, it seemed to work just fine, just hard to turn.
I bought this for my great-niece who loves crafts. From the first second, the gears locked and wouldn't turn. Don't waste your time or money. I eventually bought her a loom set.
I purchased this product for my 7 and 12 year old so that they could make gifts this season. The machine locked up from the very beginning even with the yarn they provided. Also when placing the machine on P for panel it would switch back to T for tube. Disappointed is an understatement. Returning back to the store this morning.
Item does not work. I followed the instructions, including turning the handle VERY slowly. I worked with it for two hours. It dropped literally every stitch. I would give it zero stars if that were an option. A pair of tooth picks and dental floss would work 100 times better.
I had it for a week and was so excited to use it because I had a similar one as a kid. I read the directions precisely but it kept dropping stitches, after looking at youtube I figured out you have to skip every other hook which the directions failed to mention. I went slow like it said to, which was really hard to turn the handle and quite obnoxious cranking noises that my neighbors probably heard. I almost made a full length tube scarf but, all of a sudden the handle broke! What the HECK! Ridiculous. I should've read the reviews before wasting $15.. DO NOT BUY!!
DOES NOT WORK. I have tried to use this item with my 11 year old daughter, but no matter what type of yarn we use or how slow or fast - It automatically unravels. There are no loops to sew up, the fun fur yarn hides anything that resembles the loops that you should sew up. Regular yarn gets caught in the tiny hooks and it creates a knot. This unit drops 3 stitches consistently in a row ( i didn't know what a dropped stitch was until i read others reviews). Basically it winds a wad of yarn and hacks it out of the bottom. The worst part about this purchase is - I think I paid more than the list price at Walmart. I will locate my receipt and take this horrible Christmas present back to Walmart. I feel horrible that my daughter received this for Christmas - I guess I should have bought an electronic device instead. Parents are criticized for purchasing electronics or games - so we try to do better by purchasing a crafty item - this crafty item stinks :( BOO red heart. Maybe there is a knitting app that the children will have more fun with... They love the pottery app that I found on the app store. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT FOR YOUR CHILD - WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY...
I got this for my daughter as a Christmas present and we have spent over half the day trying to get this cheap piece of junk to work. She has been in tears almost all day because she wants to make gifts for her family so bad. I will NEVER buy another Red Heart craft set. I am having the same problems as everyone else. The machine locks up and stitches get dropped constantly. I am extremely disappointed. I just wish I would have read these reviews before I purchased this as a gift.
Beware! Supervise your child very closely when they are operating this knitting machine. My child (13 years old) opened her Christmas gift and within the hour it broke. You must rotate the handle extremely slowly, if not you will cause the "teeth" to jam and break. I had to re-order another knitting machine online because it was not available in store. I would have never replace it with another one but my child had her heart set on having one. Do not buy this item!
