great ladder, horrible sandbags

We received our above ground pool ladder steps today. The men put it together, the pictures were not clear with the instructions and diagrams/drawings would be better than poor quality photographs. Regardless, they got it put together. I would not recommend getting this package with the sand bags, which are nothing but over sized zip lock bags. One of the bags open and made a horrible mess in the pool. We have decided to go another route so don't purchase their so called sand bags. We are getting weights to put under the steps that will hold the ladder down and not float. You must have weight on the ladder for it to work. The mat was missing from this package, but even if we do eventually get the mat you can find an alternative at Walmart than paying for the over priced mat. The ladder itself seems to work pretty good. Our 2 year old grandson can get up and down the ladder, but of course it is high and we stay right next to him as he goes up and down. The steps I love because again for smaller children they can hang out by the ladder when they want to rest from swimming. So just buy the ladder by itself; instead of spending an extra $100 for glorified zip lock sand bags and the mat that never came. 5 stars for quality of steps, minus 2 stars for sandbags and no mat.

Unsafe outside ladder

This is not a safe ladder to climb trying to get into the pool. They are slick and even worse when wet trying to get out of the pool. My husband was attempting to get out and put his foot on the top step, his foot slipped, and he ended up in a split position, injuring his back, hip, and leg. We had to use our old ladder to get out of the pool. Ridiculous!!! We called the number provided on the receipt and even though the staff was polite, the resolution of trying to exchange the ladder was not met with great results. We will have to find a new outside ladder that will end up costing us more money. It would have been a nightmare trying to send back the ladder after taking it apart and hoping to get a full refund. DONT BUY THIS PRODUCT!

Don't Do It!

I was excited to buy it but that was short lived! This was the most expensive piece of poo I've ever wasted money on... it was a jigsaw puzzle putting it together. Getting the weight on the ballast was tricky and one we got the outside extension ladder extended for my 52” pool the last step is 20” from the next. Way too high for my old lady body to reach let alone pull up on. Not to mention it look sturdy but it's really very flimsy. The hand rails bend easy which can cause someone to fall! Do yourself a favor and save yourself the frustration... Do not buy this product!
