Bought this to replace a plastic one & it is very good quality. The price is what attracted me to look at it. The price was very reasonable for such a nice product. I purchased through the website in the evening & it was ready for pickup the next morning.
Purchased a heavy plastic stand and our umbrella blew out of it and was ruined. Purchased this when bought new umbrella. A week later a massive storm with tornado force winds came through. Our umbrella stayed put! Wonderful stand, can't beat the value for this price point.
I was looking for a patio umbrella base that didn't break the bank. This is the one. Heavy & super easy to assemble. Even comes with 3 adapters for whatever pole you use. Very pleased.
This IS a very heavy base. I have a cast iron base that is not as heavy as this one. Be sure to measure the area under your table. Keep in mind, this is square. It did just fit under the patio table but I never thought to measure before hand. So do be sure to measure to make sure it fits under your table. The tube is longer than any other bases I own. The tube being long, will aid in sturdiness to the umbrella pole. This base is solid so keep in mind, water may become trapped under it, depending on where you place it. I suggest simply moving it slightly after a rain to make sure area is dry or to allow sun to dry that area, then simply move back. The reason I say this is because the product is solid and it does not state WHAT is inside the base. It does not state it here nor in the directions I received. IF you are placing this item on ground, I suggest placing some sort of platform under it and your table. If this item contains a concrete material, it really could become unstable after a period of use if placed directly on ground that becomes wet consistently. I have this base on an open concrete patio. After a rain, I will simply move it slightly to allow sun to dry any area under it that may have water. I am not sure you can beat it for this price of under $20. I also think it will last a long time if taken care of.
Very sturdy & perfect for my table!
This definitely will NEVER blow away...we have had our umbrella in this stand through several high wind storms. We keep the umbrella closed during those times and it hasn't moved a bit. Excellent value as I've seen this item on other sites for twice as much as Walmart....excellent value and quality item! We are very pleased with this purchase.
I bought this stand for an existing table and umbrella. I did have to remove the plastic piece to fit the umbrella, but it is nice and tight due to the screw supplied. I am very happy with the color match. This was a win/win because it was super cheap and delivered for free! I am very happy with my purchase and will recommend it to others!
I bought this umbrella base to use with a Mainstays 9' Round Patio Umbrella, and it does the job wonderfully. It's heavy enough to firmly secure a 9' umbrella without being too heavy to move yourself. It was very easy to put together, well made, and has a pleasing burnished brown color. I highly recommend it!
I would not recommend purchasing this base online, when I received the package it was torn and crushed and the base was broken in pieces. There is a notice that comes with the base stating to contact the manufacturer if the piece comes broken or missing parts, I would suggest not wasting your time doing that and just go to your local Wal-Mart for the return. I did that and had no issues whatsoever. The sales associate did tell me the system indicated those sold in the store were $5 cheaper than online. I was able to find one in the store, actually they had alot in stock so I suggest going to your local store to find one than ordering on line. BTW, the one I purchased was fine and appears to be pretty sturdy.
Expectations low based on I had to pick up at store and though this might be great for some I ordered on line for the convience to have it mailed... this should be an OPTIONS! Also when I got it home it was missing a part... the Plastic Screw (mat.code. 18000097001) this part I am able to find at a hardware store and not worth sending item back. However an additional cost and inconvinouce. As this was my first order online with Walmart, not a good start to trusting process.
