The 8805 is an outstanding piece. The installation in my rather complex system went off without a hitch. And the sound quality in my current 7.2 system is the best I have had over many decades as an audio/video hobbyist. I could not be more pleased. And now I have an upgrade path to 4K and Atmos!
All right for first separates so this unit replaced Marantz AV8802A
I've owned a few preamp processors over the years and the Marantz AV8805 is the best! Very easy to set up to almost any configuration and sound quality that's 2nd to none!
Our company has been selling Marantz for about 12 yrs now for that client that want quality performance at reasonable price points. They are litterally built like tanks and hold up against all situations thrown at them. For Island Sight and Sound Marantz is definitely a flagship piece.

Besides being of excellent quality, works in tandem with Apple TV and Samsung TV without having to do any programming.
