This bike is perfect for me in every way. It's compact enough to fit in the corner of my room, is built sturdy and is great excercise even if I only have five minutes here and there to use it. I purchased a cusioned seat cover just for a little added comfort. It was pretty easy to put together even though I did it alone. It would have helped to have another pair of hands but not necessary. The price was great, too. I don't really think that buying a more expensive one would have been any better. All in all, I highly recommend this bike.
I purchased this bike about a month ago and it hasn't failed me yet. Set up was fairly easy except i needed my sons help(age 24) with the um pole holding handle bars (sorry forgot name lol) then he just put the rest together for me about half hour. Instructions are simple i however turned handle bars around and took off the thing to hold my feet in place just a personal choice. NOW the seat good God man what were they thinking it hurts badly. I mean the size is good and i weigh 210 soo my rear is a good size but they said this particular bike had padded seats well it is padded but not enough so i brought the sheepskin pad for about $6 which has a drawstring and fit perfect and makes the ride a lot easier so don't give up this bike does what it must also i ride it twice a day now before the extra padding i could barely do 20 min. Oh it is very quiet and fits in small spaces.
First time purchase of a stationary bike from anywhere. Read all the reviews and this model was the newer of this type of Marcy bike. Fantastic, simple product. Easy to assemble with one person. Just read the directions and familiarize yourself with the hardware...took me maybe 30 minutes. The magnetic movement of the drive is absolutely silent and solid. The saddle is comfortable. The computer is efficient and simple to use. I purchased this for my mother who is 77 for some good cardio. She has the the quick adjust handle bars set up like a conventional bike and sits up streight in the saddle and spins away! Very stable platform. The Walmart ship to store with a text notification of delivery was awsome!!!
Ive had this product now for about 3 weeks, and use it about every other day. It wasn't too hard to put together although I don't think I could have managed the tension wire alone; that one was a bit tricky. Definitely helped turning the tension dial down to its lowest setting to put it on though. The seat I have to say is really HARD - perhaps my butt isnt as padded as I thought, but after 25 mins on the bike it feels tender. I use a cushion to sit on, and it still feels hard. If this seat is an improvement on the previous model then I shudder to think what the old one was like. To use, the machine is straightforward. I am thinking about turning the handlebars around though as leaning so far forward feels a little odd to me (but I am a new user so perhaps that may change). You dont need to use the handlebars if you dont wish to or feel they are at an odd angle - I just sit up straight and peddle or move my arms for extra cardio. The bike feels very stable and is super quiet to use - I usually watch a tv show on my pc while peddling and dont need to turn up the volume at all. Its not too hard to move around either - I just tilt it onto the front 'wheels' (they aren't really wheels, more like casters) and push it where it needs to go. This is a perfect machine for a new to exercise or returning to exercise person. I would imagine if you are very fit that this wouldn't meet your needs as well as you cannot stand up to use it. I have bad knees (the reason I gave up exercise 5 years ago) and while this bike doesn't strain them too much I do tend to wear an ace bandage on them because I can feel 'some' pulling - once my quads are stronger (from using the bike) I'm sure I can dispense with this. Keep in mind though that you may need support on knees or ankles that have been weak in the past until you are more used to the bike.
I love my Marcy stationary bike. The bike is completely silent and I work up a great sweat while enjoying my favorite tv shows. Assembly was not complicated. I followed the simple instructions provided and was able to assemble the bike by myself with ease (and I would not claim to be very mechanically inclined). Reviews on the older model claimed that the prior seat was too hard, so I chose to purchase this newer version and have no complaints about the seat or anything else regarding this fun piece of equipment. I'm completely satisfied with this product and recommend this compact, quiet stationary bike to anyone looking for an inexpensive, simple yet effective, piece of equipment to compliment their "home gym" and active lifestyle.
Being an avid runner, i needed an affordable option to running during winter, specially considering that running costs almost nothing. This bike is the lowest price around, yet has nice features that belong in more expensive equipment. My favorite feature is the trip computer, it has big numbers and reads time for trip, mile, miles per hour, calories burned, and total miles on current batteries. The trip computer shuts down after 30 seconds of no activity, but keeps all settings until manually reset. The magnets provide a good amount of resistance but cannot be compared to electric models, I use 7 and 8, the highest settings available. The seat mount is height adjustable, I am 6' and the seat adjusts just fine to my height. Its not perfect, the seat is extremely hard and does not use a standard bicycle shaft mount, so it is not replaced easily, invest in an add on seat pad from the bicycle section. Assembly is simple, but takes a while, as the bike is received completely disassembled, having some metric wrenches and Allen keys makes assembly that much easier than just using the included multi tool. It is likely you will hear creaks and grinding when using , this is cause by the poor lubrication from the factory, which is laughable. I recommend to take apart the foot crank, its easy if you have worked on bicycles before, there are also plenty of videos online on how to do this, to clean and apply a proper amount of quality axle grease to the crank bearings, being careful not to loose any of the ball bearings. You can also make a small investment and buy some proper bearings and races at an actual bicycle shop. Spray silicone spray on the other moving bearings, except the surface of the belt. The belt is over adjusted but is easy to adjust once you remove the housing by loosening a single nut, and then tighten until the belt does not slip on the highest tension setting. You should also adjust the gap between the magnets and the fly wheel so that the magnets do not rub the wheel but are close enough to it for the most tension. By putting in a little extra work before assembling this bike, you will have a good exercise tool that is much better than bikes that cost twice as much.
I ordered this bike about 3 weeks ago and I love it! The reviews for the other Marcy bike model complained about a hard seat, the company seems to have taken notice for this one is very comfortable. My only complaint is that every now and then there is a creaking noise, I think because I tried standing up on the high resistance level. I don't think the bike is made for standing if that is what you are looking for. Other than that, it is really quiet and the resistance levels are very effective.
I have only had this machine for 3 weeks, but my wife and I use it almost daily. It is well built and sturdy. I weigh 300 lbs. and it supports me fine, although as with any bike, the seat could be more comfortable. With the different settings you can get a variety of workouts. This machine serves its purpose. I'm glad I did not spend more money on a more expensive machine.
Been using this bike for a over a week now. I like it. It definitely gets the blood pumpin and using the tension gets the legs hurting. The seat is hard, so I'm hoping to buy a gel seat cover. I really wish it had a fan. I would buy it if your looking to add to your at home exercise equipment.
I bought this bike about a month ago. Though there were some issues with the site to store delivery, once I recieved it every thing was great. The packaging is small and could easily fit in the trunk of my little car. The assembly was simple enough and only took me about an hour. (I was distracted while watching a movie) The design is very compact and can easily be maneuvered around my apartment. It is also very quite. The only complaint that I have is that the seat is very hard. I easily fixed that by purchasing a padded bike seat cover.
