I had vth200 that lasted well over 10 years. After the control knob broke off heater was fully replaced under warranty. Lookin forward to another 10 plus years of stable performance. Customer service was stellar.

I have 6 tanks and use 2 heaters in each tank, in case one goes bad. Well one did go bad and Marineland replaced it no questions ask. Can't ask for better service than that.

I purchased the 20 gallon marineland kit which included a heater. the thermometer reads 86 degrees but the heater light is still on and for some reason still heating the water. This does not seem normal. the heater only has one setting so I cannot turn it up or down. I am really concern that my fish will become uncomfortable. Also, the LED light is beautiful but did not snap in place per the instructions.

50 % success rate is not good enough!

The quality control of Marineland submersible heaters leaves much to be desired. We bought 2 - 250w submersible heaters for the same tank and 6 months later one works, one doesn't. This is the second time I've lost a Marineland heater in a year or less and it's the last. 50% doesn't cut it. Overall success rate for me, 33%.

Product has issues

At first the Heater would just continue to heat my tank way past 80. I soon learned through testing that I had to set it at 73 to make it 82-76, yes it has a 6 degree difference in temperature. Complete non sense as I paid good money for my 100w. I'm Going to go to my LFS and tell them about other reviews on this product, as they recommended it to me.

I have used Visi Therm heaters in the past with no problems. As wells many other Marineland products on all 7 of my tanks. But quality control must have been fired because the new ones are horrible. I'll start From the beginning... This past Saturday I went and bought a 75 watt heater for my 10 gallon tank. I know it's a bit overkill, but I'd rather have to much than not enough heating. I brought it home and put it in my tank over night. The next morning I plugged it in and went about my business letting the water heat up. Later once the tank was the right temp, I put my fry in their new home. The next Morning I woke up and the tank was 96 degrees. The T-stat was set on 77. I tried to turn it down think it just wasn't calibrated right but I could not get it to shut off. I promptly took it out of my tank and put my small back up heater in there to at least keep them from freezing or suffering stress from a fast drop in temp. I called Marineland about the issue and she was very nice and understanding about it, but since I just bought it, I told her I would take it back to the store rather than her send another one to my house. I took it in and exchanged it for another one and it did the exact same thing. That evening I took #2 back and got a 50watt this time since thinking it was maybe a production issue with that batch. The 50watt seemed to do the job at first, but no. It just took it a little longer to over heat my tank. I pulled it out when it hit 90 degrees. 3 heaters, 2 different wattage's and the exact same problem with all of them. After issues I had with a filter from them, and now heaters too? Someone needs to step up and restore the company name to what it was. Until then, They lost a loyal customer.

2nd heater to stop working

1st heater overheated tank and Marineland sent out a new one because it had been recalled. They sent this one. It worked great for 12 months and now it won't heat. The light turns on but that's about it. Also the temperature numbers in white ink vanished after a few months on the top of the dial.

Just bought it last night at Countrymax, set it up and dialed it on 82 degrees, so far water just gets up to 75 degrees, see pictures of my 2 thermometers. Definitely taking it back to the store.

I got 2 of these as recall replacements for the Steath Heaters

I got 2 of these as recall replacements for the Steath Heaters both temp controls are way out of calibration the one I can use is 10-15 deg F off the other is unusable only after a few months it wont turn on in 60 deg F water until I turn it all the way up and wont raise the tank temp above 70 Deg F, I don't know if I chance going back to the Stealths that worked for 3-4 years without a issue and were dead on accurate with the thermostat. both are related to the product because it was a recall situation
