Best there is. Never over or under ripe. Excellant for smoothies. And if you look at the ingredients, all it contains is, you guessed it, avocado. Only problem is I can no longer find it in Central New York Wal-Marts. I would by it on-line if it was available. I would indeed recommend it to a friend. Any suggestions?
I buy this product to use in my green smoothies. It grinds up easily & makes my smoothies creamy. Only problem is having the store to keep it in stock.
This product can be frozen so you have fresh avacado anytime. I mixed it with tomato, onion, fresh cilantro, lemon jiuice and salt. It was wonderful. I did not try to eat it right out of the container.
I do appreciate it that it does not have onion or garlic added. However here are my recommendations for the manufacturer. 1. Make it in 4 small individual cups. The two trays are too much for one person when you open one tray I have enough for three days and I have to discard it as it turns nasty by day three. Definitely you need to make it in 4 small cups instead of two trays. The trays are impossible to close after opening, so it turns brown until the next day even when you try to wrap it with was paper against the surface to keep out the air. Why not use foil to cover it or lids? 2. Make two choices. a) chunky and 2) smooth, which I would prefer for sandwiches and wraps. I had to first puree the chunks with my blender stick and it makes a lot of extra work and clean up for me. So could you give me a choice of 'smooth'? I just don't like having to buy fresh and then the day they are ripe, I am not able to prepare it and it goes bad. The fresh avocado's in the store are sometimes all over ripe and awful. 3. Add just a drop of (abscorbic acid or Vit C or lemon juice) to keep it from turning brown. Not enough to change the taste. I like it being 'ready to use' if you make it smooth and add no garlic or onion flavorings. The taste is fine I just need to add salt and pepper and I am good to go. I would really give it a 5-star with the above suggestions..
I've never had such dry, rubbery, tasteless avocados in my life. It didn't make a difference what extra ingredients we added to flavor this, it was just bad. Not a good choice at all. Never again. Tasted like artificial avocados.
This didn't even taste like avocados. All I could taste were the chemicals used to preserve it. I honestly even widened if these were real avocados. Worst $5 I've ever spent.
The reason the other reviews stated it was tasteless is because whoever is making this is using unripe avocados. I've bought it a couple of times and both times the avocado they used was not ripe. Someone needs to better train their people on how to determine when an avocado is ripe.
I bought it on a whim to have with a salad. I should have tasted it before I added it, because it was just awful. There was just something off about these "avocados" that didn't sit right with me, so I ended up eating around it. I googled reviews on the product to see if it was just me, and I am so glad to see that others agree. It's rubbery and tasteless.
Due to the lack of ripe avocados in the store, I thought I'd try this product to make some homemade guacamole. I've never had such dry, rubbery, tasteless avocados in my life. It didn't make a difference what extra ingredients we added to flavor this, it was just bad. Not a good choice at all. Never again.
This was one of the biggest wastes of money every. I like the guacamole, and thought I would add this to it to make the guacamole chunky and go farther....big mistake. I ended up throwing out over half the tray b/c the pieces were so hard I couldn't even stab them with a fork! And whatever preservatives they put on them to keep them fresh tastes awful! I had to add so much sour cream and spices to the guacamole just to cover up the taste of them. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT BUY this product! If I could give negative stars on a product I would!
