This is a great mix for tacos.
I served this with pulled pork for little "street tacos" (also available at WalMart). Add extras such as salsa, sour cream, cheese, jalapenos, Mexican rice, and sriracha, and you have a quick and easy gourmet crowd pleaser!
I love the southwestern dressing in it as long as the cabbage is cut small.
A bit toooooo spicy for my taste. A good blend but next time I'll add my own dressing.
GOOD BUT DID NOT LAST LONG IN FRIDGE
Salad is ok, but wish everything was organic. Sometimes I get some bags that go bad before they should but Walmart makes good on that.
This used to be my favorite chopped salad but it's been reformulated for the worse. Individual tastes vary of course, so this is only my opinion. - The greens have been modified to add kale and other types of lettuce, which changed the texture and crunch from the previous cabbage-based receipe - The cilantro, which gave it a southwest kick, has been removed - The dressing is spicier and too strong - A LOT of green onions have been added, which overpower the other flavors - The tortilla chips are no longer flavored but are dull and boring It wasn't a pleasant experience to eat and I won't be buying it any more.
I purchased this salad a couple of days ago. It's best if it's used by April 30. We prepared this salad for dinner for family and friends. The following picture is what we found in our salad. Yes that is a dead beetle. We noticed it when we got to the bottom of the bowl. That is disgusting knowing we ate most of the salad with the dead beetle in it. Sadly we didn't notice it while mixing because my little brother mixed the salad. I pray that nobody from my family who ate this salad gets sick. I wonder is this is something that happens often with this company distributing these salads?? Quality control needs to look into this. No words just disgusting!!
I would have to agree with other reviews - this used to be our favorite salad. We purchased it at least once or twice a week. The new salad just doesn't have the same flavor as the old and frankly, it tastes like the Southwest Salads I tried from other markets and stopped buying. Unfortunately, I've stopped buying this one as well.
This salad was a go to salad for me until they changed to this new version. I at this salad a few times a week up until a month ago when they changed it to this new version. I'm not sure what Walmart was thinking, but they need to change the recipe back to what it was. I would buy four salads at a time, now I will never purchase this salad again unless the item recipe is changed back to the cabbage base etc. I mean this new version is just GROSS! If you loved the previous version you will absolutely hate this new version. It's not even close to the same. Just disgusting!!!! Bring back the old recipe prior to this nasty one!!!!
