Put it together, but had to go online to find operating instructions from a user! There were no operating instructions in the box! This made our Fathers Day gathering something special. Ribs were spectacular!!!
I thought that you set the temp. high let it cook but the lower I set it the slower it cooks but the flavoring is better. As I said before still learning. But I love the flavor from the wood. This is my first electric smoker I have a traditional smoker, works good but not the same as the Masterbuilt. Don't know how I lasted this long without having one.
Worked as I had hoped
I say almost perfect because the only down fall this smoker has is the half cup drain pan that comes with it. I mean I was out there almost every ten minutes draining the grease in an effort to not have it cover my deck !!! I love the masterbuilt company but you'd think they'd do a better job on that problem . Other than that I loved it!
I am new to use of a smoker. I wanted to try an electric smoker because it appeared more convenient with a result similar to using charcoal or propane. After using the Masterbuilt Electric Smoker, I can tell you I like it . . . a lot. It is easy to use. The controls are simple, the attached temperature probe is very handy, and adding wood chips is easy. I first smoked a beef roast and some salmon. During this roughly 3-hour process, I added more chips only about 3 or 4 times. I found it best to leave the air controller on the side more than half open to allow more smoke to be produced. I also like having the see-through glass door on the front. It just makes it a bit easier to monitor for a rookie like me. Overall, very pleased.
My husband got a wild hair & decided to try his hand at smoking meats. He has aspirations of becoming a master griller & being the supportive wife we made the big purchase about a year ago. Since then, he has smoked countless meats in this thing & LOVES it - he loves perfecting his favor concoctions depending upon what meat he's smoking at the time! I have to say I love it too - it's fantastic food & a plus being I don't have to cook the night he does this & so I get a night off from cooking - a win-win for both me & him. He has been asked to smoke meats for various family functions as well as church functions & so if you get this most likely you will have some fun with this & don't be surprised if people put you to work at functions as the food ca seriously be that good :)

received the item early on shipping. was very easy to put together have used it two times now and it works great. there is a learning curve when using from my old one but it is a great smoker
