Yo, if your into smoking, this is the Ticket! I upgraded from the 30" without the stand or wheels & it is a must as you get older & harder to bend all the way to the ground. With the 40" on wheels & stand, Light, Blue Tooth & Meat Probe, it upped my game to a Pro! I also added the Side Smoker, which does Cheese & Poppers out of this world! I loved this so much, I ordered a 2nd one for my Son & a 3rd one for a co-worker! They call it MASTERBUILT for a Good Reason!
I simply Love Everything about this Smoker. Having a little trouble loosing Bluetooth feature at less than fifteen feet away. Heats up Quick and Temp is right on with my instant read probe. First Pork Butt yesterday in 20 degree weather with 20-30 mpg wind. Worked Great with no temp drop. This is my second Masterbuilt Smoker. Had a 30 inch for 10 years. Smoked so many things from Hot Dogs to Turkeys. I finally wore it out. If this Smoker gives me the Service and I think it will I'll be a Happy Smoke Master. Very Well Made and Great controls. Love it so far.
I got this smoker for my husband for Christmas. You might say it was really for the whole family. I can't say enough about how easy this is to use. Neither of us has ever used a smoker but our son is in college in the south and we got exposed to the taste. This is literally foolproof and it runs on an app from your phone. We used it for the first time the day after Christmas and it was freezing outside. We didn't have to leave the house until the probe in the meet told us when it was done!! FROM MY PHONE. Our first attempt was Ribs Chicken thighs for nachos Mac and cheese with bacon (recipe on their site) Cod Chicken wings Blackberry cobbler Everything was cooked to perfection. The Mac and cheese was to die for. I have to admit that I didn't love the blackberry cobbler but others did. I guess it's a matter of taste. The smoker comes with a cover which got lost in the mail and customer service quickly shipped out another one. I am not sure if we will grill again and this device is 1/2 the price of a grill. I think everyone at our party (Clemson vs Ohio game) will buy one. This was the beat Christmas gift ever. Thanks
Being a smoker fan, this is my first electric. Overall, I am very pleased. Temperature control very good, I like the app. Temperature probe is good, even though I do use additional probes. Slide out racks very good and easy to clean, great quality. Good and nicely designed water pan. Only one negative and that is the smoker capacity, just doesn't provide enough smoke time for longer smokes. Needs to be refilled every 30 minutes which defeats the ability to walk away and let the smoker smoke. To remedy, I purchased the A-MAZ-N 5x8 smoker tray which has worked out perfectly for smokes over an hour. An hour or less I do use the built in smoker which does provide very good smoke results. Even with the smoke issue for me personally, I will give this a rating given new month of use.
Absolutely love this smoker. I smoked chicken, pork, and pork loin. The meat came out great.my husband assembled it and pre-seasoned it. I recommended the smoker to my brother.
I bought this smoker primarily to smoke fish in order to make smoked fish dip. But now using it for many other things such as pork ribs and chicken wings. I really like it.
I bought the 40" electric smoker specifically to smoke kielbasa amd other sausage. After about 6 weeks, and 40 pounds of sausage, I'm more than satisfied with the results obtained for what I consider to be a bargain price unit! I use a ThermoWoeks Smoke to monitor internal air temperature amd it is rarely more than a few degrees off the digital readout. My only minor disappointment is not getting smoke below a smoker set point of 185F.
Got this for Christmas from my lovely wife. Have used it once, and I've never smoked before, so keep that in mind. I made a couple smoked whole chickens/pre marinated them for 24 hours. Soaked the spplewood chips in apple cider vinegar. The unit came to temperature quickly. Took about 5 hours overall to cook the meat- the built in meat thermomenter was very handy. The bluetooth connection to the app broke a few times but it was easy enough to reconnect. End result was some of the most fantastic chicken ive ever had, my nephews keep asking when ill make it again.
This is my 3rd Masterbuilt Smoker and I am not disappointed. Already made Venison Summer Sausage and smoked kielbasa . Temps hold solid with vent on the opposite side of the heat source and the smoker holds plenty of product. Would have gone 5 stars but the spring on the latch ha popped out and I will need to contact Masterbuilt after the holidays for replacement. (Latch still works)
Decent for price point. Doesnt hold consisten temp in my experiences so far. Ive been smoking for 20 years, this isnt the best or worst ive used. It will make due now that i know i need to have it on 275 degrees the whole time. Also slows down smoking when youve put a couple trays worth of wood in so plan to dump the ash at least once on an 8 hour smoke but thats explainable.
