I have tested a lot of AA alkaline batteries on an electronic battery analyzer and these just don't measure up. At a cost of 75c each (in 10 packs) they are among the highest priced I have tested, (only the two "name brands" that you see advertised all the time cost more in small packs and I think we all know what those are). But these tested the least power of any brand I tested. Given the high price, I don't see any value here when you can buy the Wal Mart "Great Value" brand for a little more than half the price (in packs of 8) and get a BETTER battery that delivered 17% more power than this Maxell battery. The other problem with this battery is that the ones I got just this week are marked with an expiration date of 10-2025, the shortest shelf life of any battery I have tested so far. These would be a better deal (not the "best" deal in terms of power per dollar, but at least acceptable) in packs of 48 (the largest I could find sold by Wal Mart) but if I only get 4 years and 3 months to use them, they will go bad sitting on the shelf and I would likely just be wasting money and throwing unused batteries in the battery recycling pile. Bottom line is I can not recommend these, I see no reason to buy them. They are below average performers and the price is too high for what appears to be a very basic, generic quality battery.
