Very nice mailbox. We did have to start new with post because after you place the mailbox it would have been too far out in road. Not a simple switch out. Also shop because other places has it 30 bucks cheaper.
product was easy to assemble. Good looking item.
Help please. I ordered the unit last week and the tall portion delivered today 3/26/23. The mail box holder and plant box to be mailed shortly. No instructions with the tall portion so have a question. If it takes a 4X4X8 with about 3 feet in the ground and 5 feet (60 in) left for the unit to sit over wood, I notice that the plastic tall portion can only take 23 inches of the 4x4 since there are portrusions in side that stop it from going to the full 56 inches to the top. Advise please. Thanks.
nice looking mailbox, I wish they would have included the mailbox brackets and had pre drilled holes
bought one of these for my old house. very nice and srurdy.
Good post. Made for flat-bottom mailbox so if your mailbox bottom is not flat, it may need to be modified.
It's flimsy and looks cheap from 5' and closer. Don't think it will hold up well. Mailbox arm does not have pre drilled holes. You need to buy mailbox, mailbox hardware and a mount plate separately, along with the 4x4 and cement. If I didn't already invest all this time and money I would have picked a different option.
Due to a car demolishing my first Mayne Westbrook Plus mail post recently, I ordered the same unit with a solar light cap. I received the order reasonably quick. However, after unpacking the three boxes, I noticed flaws in the injection molding of the post, mailbox arm and undersized solar cap. The post had sharp vertical ridges left after the mold was released. The mailbox arm had an uneven mold pour on the top surface. The solar light cap does not fit correctly on the post cap. It is slightly undersized. After calling customer service, they recommended that I return all the products and wait for another shipment. Very frustrating since I need my mail delivered.
I purchased this Westbrook Mail Plus from Lowes about a year ago....in white. Initially, it was the standout mailbox in the entire neighborhood. Very impressive, good looks...but...as time has past, a problem developed that I cannot control. There are two bolts that attach the planter to the post. What has happened is...dirt and moisture seep behind these bolts and onto the post itself. Once on the post, this drainage travels down the ""white post,"" leaving this brown stain which becomes almost impossible to completely remove. Since the post itself consists of an upper and lower half, this drainage is visible only from the rear...on the upper post. However, once this drainage reaches the bottom of the upper half, it makes its way around the lip causing discoloration on three of the four sides...visible to those passing by. Which is why I'm looking for a replacement. That said, I may actually buy it in brown....and plan to use silicone around the bolts. It really is an impressive mailbox...but think twice about ""white."" Being plastic, this post does get dirty just from road traffic. The one other issue...although not major...the platform the mailbox sits on attaches to the post (and to the 4X4) with two bolts. With one bolt above the other, it has vertical stability. However, horizontal stability is lacking. My mailman actually brought this to my attention...but...it's never been an issue. Bottom Line; all this said, I still like the style and...would recommend this unit...in any color but white.
DID NOT GET ALL THE ORDER
