I have used McCormick Fajita Seasoning Mix for several years, because it provides a smooth and flavorful fajita taste. Having tried several other fajita mixes, I have found that some are harsh in taste and some provide almost no taste without using 2 or 3 packages per pound of meat. McCormick’s Fajita Seasoning Mix uses no MSG or artificial flavorings. I use frozen fajita vegetables and they produce a good amount of water as they cook. This works out well since McCormick calls for ¼ cup of water be added when using this mix. You end up with a nice lightly thickened sauce. My family thoroughly enjoyed the fajita meal prepared with the McCormick’s Fajita Seasoning Mix and I would highly recommend this product.
McCormicks Fajita Seasoning is perfect for adding some spice to your bland boring chicken. I loved the subtle flavors that it gave the chicken. The directions are easy to follow and dinner will be done and on the table in under 30 minutes. The spices used were not too spicy or strong but just gave a good flavor to the chicken. I was concerned that it would be too overpowering as some spice mixes can be but I was pleasantly surprised. Also although this package appears small there is plenty of spices to cover the 1lb of meat or possibly even a little more. I think what I liked most about it was that hint of lime you could taste. This seasoning packet could be used in a lot of different ways from using it as a marinade, rub or even to season rice.
McCormick Mexican Seasoning Mix - Fajita is the perfect combination of seasoning you would use to make delicious fajitas at home without having to go out and separately purchase each and every seasoning. The spices included in the Fajita Seasoning Mix include cumin, chili pepper, oregano, onion, salt and garlic. The spices used in McCormick Fajita Seasoning Mix are natural spices with no artificial flavors and no MSG. Whether you use chicken, ground beef, steak or any other meat, just add bell peppers, onion, and 1/4 cup of water with the Mexican Fajita Seasoning Mix and you need not add any other spices to have a delicious Mexican Fajita dinner. The smell is deliciously enticing. Smells as though you have been cooking all day. Extremely delicious and so easy to use. Perfect Flavor Combination!
For those of you that like to make fajitas from scratch this is a good seasoning mix. I have made fajitas with frozen mixes and you just add meat before so this was my first time doing it from scratch. It gives you the items you need on the back of the packet. This packet was enough for 3 medium bell peppers and I would advise it if you are feeding more than 2 people. I used the multi-color peppers but if you want all green that would be fine too.
McCormick is our first choice in spice mixes, especially for Mexican type dishes. I was glad to see that the front top corner prominently displays No MSG, No Artificial Flavors and “With Natural Spices” As usual I checked out the back of the package to check out what other items I needed. Then I was ready to start preparations following the easy to follow directions on the back. A nice touch is alternative meal idea. Once everything was ready we chowed down on the fajitas. We all were pleased with the taste. It has the right flavors we like and just the right level of spiciness were prefer.
The McCormick Fajita Seasoning Mix is another great seasoning for quick meals. It did not take me long to gather all my ingredients and add the seasoning mix for a great fajita meal. The preparation and list of ingredients are very easy to understand. This would be a quick meal for those with busy schedules. Although please be advised that the portion size or cut sizes of the meat and vegetables are important. I only say this because I’m not a trained cook but I found out that the ingredients in smaller sizes will cook evenly and will absorb the flavors of the seasoning mix with great results. The McCormick Fajita Seasoning Mix is a great alternative because there are no guessing games in measuring how much seasoning to add or how many different spices I need to make good fajitas. This seasoning mix is perfectly measured – not too salty or not too spicy. It’s the short cut for a great meal. I recommend this the McCormick Fajita Seasoning Mix to create a great meal for the whole family to enjoy.
We created tacos using the Fajita Seasoning mix and they turned out great! The seasoning is a great blend similar to that of most fajita and taco seasoning packets. It had the right amount of spice for my family. The flavors were completely infused while cooking so there was not a bit of chicken that did not have a great flavor! I would recommend this product to anyone who wants to put together a quick meal with a Mexican flair!
The McCormick’s Fajitas seasoning mix is easy to mix into a variety of meats, depending on what you feel like having that night, or even whatever you have in the freezer. We decided to use vegan “steak’’, heating it in the skillet with some frozen peppers and onions. After a few minutes, we added ¼ cup of water and the powdered fajita seasoning mix, stirring until blended and heated completely. We then put the “steak’’ mixture in a warm flour tortilla with a few extra toppings. Personally, the first thing I tasted was a heavy dose of salt , followed by a good hit of chili powder. The taste isn’t too strong, nor is it too spicy, even for me! But due to the heavy salt taste, I probably won’t try this again.
I do not like to talk negative about stuff. I like to focus on the positive. Yes, everything has negatives and must be acknowledged, but still focus on the positive. But with this product, there was no positive. Not for me, anyways. I am Hispanic and love fajitas. I love fajitas seasoning so much I use it for everything from fajitas, to chicken, to ground beef. I even put some on my store-bought refried beans to make them taste better. It pretty much goes on everything. And since most of my spices come from McCormick, I decided I should try their Mexican: Seasoning Mix Fajitas. Well, first of all, when I poured it on my ground beef (as I usually do), I noticed it was orange. Orange?! Well, ok, as long as it tastes good, right? Then, the smell got me. Cumin. I love cumin! But in limited quantities. The smell of cumin was so overwhelming it smelled horrible. Still, I kept cooking, just waiting for the taste. And then the taste.... no salt. I didn't see anything in the package that said no salt. So, I wondered if I had misread the directions. Maybe I put too much meat. So I tasted the bit of powder left in the envelope. It was like tasting cumin, with no salt, and a little bit of chili powder. I ended up adding salt and pepper to fix what I had done. And the cumin was so strong that my children wouldn't even eat it. Not what we are used to fajitas tasting. So disappointed.
I made steak fajitas with this one. Omg, never would I buy this brand for fajitas. I went according to package, but when I opened the packet all I could smell was chili powder. While it was cooking I was worried still about the chili powder smell. After all done cooking it really didn't have much flavor, so we add salt. Not good.
