the McCormick Gourmet Dry Blends/Seasonings Red Curry Powder is new to me recently, as I venture into oriental food preparation and exploration. So far, this adds a little 'heat' to the dishes, but not too much-- I haven't used too much of it, but you could probably increase it with the amount of the spice that you add to your dish. and it also adds a nice color to broth based dishes. It has a nice fresh aroma, and a mild peppery flavor, and perks up soups and sauces , as well as rice dishes. It blends a variety of flavors together nicely.
In case you didn't know, Curry powder is a mixture of spices. This McCormick version includes coriander, cumin, Cardamon, Red and chili peppers. It has been used in various mixtures in South Asian cuisine for over 4000 years. It adds a mild warmth and distinct flavor to make an ordinary dish taste very exotic. The quality of the McCormick version is excellent for the money.
This is the first time know MCCormick makes Red Curry Powder. I was excited to try my first dish with this spice. I made Thai Chicken. I usually use a wet red curry paste. The McCormick red curry powder is rich in flavor. I only needed one teaspoon of the red curry powder for the dish to taste great. I was really pleased with the outcome since this was the first I used a powder. I will use this brand from now on as long as my local store carries it. (I really hope I'll be able to find it. The McCormick Red Curry Powder is excellent.
I've always used curry powder.min my cooking. I never tried the McCormick red curry powder until now. I use it just like I use any other seasoning. I don't use a lot because I don't want a strong red color, unless I'm cooking with tomato paste. I add it to stews like chicken, beef, turkey, and pork. I even use it in rice and beans for flavor and coloring. I'm from the Caribbean and I love cooking and eating ethnic foods. I really enjoy cooking with this seasoning and I plan on using it in my cooking. I would definitely recommend this seasoning because it's great!
I love eating all kinds of curry meals. May it be chicken, beef or pork. When I tried this product with my beef, it turned out to be so delicious not to mention its unique color. Unlike the customary curry product I use which is mustard color, my family got excited to try this one and I didn't make a mistake making it. I heard a lot of compliments of how great-tasting it is. Glad I got options to choose from whenever I want to make a curry meal.
i love this, made curry rice to go with my steak fajita, wanted something different beside spanish rice, my curry rice turned out good for the first try
McCormick Gourmet Dry Blends/Seasonings Red Curry Powder, 1.65 oz These is a treat. Quite satisfied with the quality of the red curry powder . I can still feel the taste after an entire day. Gorgeous taste. Nice sized packing for the beginners. Works great for Indian and Thai red curries. Great product! Exactly as described!
I made me some rice and veggies and used some of the McCormick Red Curry Powder in it and the flavor was so good..........I will do this again and try it on other thing Ii cook............
I have been using another brand of curry in the color of yellow from an international store. The curry in this body smells, just as good, but using the holes on the top can be a burden. The holes kept getting clogged up. I know, I know, I should have removed the top, but I wanted my chicken to be evenly dispersed with the curry. It doesn't make a good gravy like the yellow curry but I will give it points for tasting like curry.
I've never cooked with curry before although I've eaten curry dishes on numerous occasions.Well I prepared my first curry chicken dish with this McCormick Red Curry.I prepared this to my liking and enjoyed the spiciness of the curry.McCormick has the best Gourmet blends. My go to curry.
