OK, here is another great seasoning by McCormick, Mexican seasoning mix taco mild. What I like about the whole McCormick taco seasoning line is that you can get seasoning from Mild to Hot so depending on your mood you choose the heat. The flavor is great on all of them. I prefer Original but the kids like mild. You just will not go wrong with McCormick Taco Seasonings. Try one tonight as it is Tuesday!!!
I have used these for a long time because it always tastes delicious and is super easy to use. I usually buy 3 to 4 London broil or tri tips when they go on sale and freeze them so if I want to cook I have a decent cut of meat in the freezer on hand. This is one of the things I use when I want to make something fast, easy and tasty. You can also use any of these packets as a great dry rub when grilling. Last time I used this I used London broil cut into strips sautéed in extra virgin olive oil, added the packets and water and simmered. Put the meat onto some soft corn tortillas with cilantro, shredded onions, chopped tomatoes and squeezed lime juice over it. It's so tasty, foolproof, fast and you can feed company when they drop by very easily. These seasoning packets are excellent to have on hand for unexpected guests or when you want to cook but not take forever and still eat something good.
I love McCormick's Mexican Taco Seasoning Mix (mild). In my opinion it has a wonderfully authentic Mexican taste and I prefer it to the other popular brands out there. I always use a pound and a half of ground beef with two packets of the taco seasoning mix because it adds even better flavor to my tacos It's also very easy to whip up a meal and your family can be having lunch or dinner in about 15-20 minutes. Just add some Mexican rice and black or refried beans and a great Mexican meal is on the table. Try this McCormick's mix and you won't be disappointed.
This taco seasoning is very yummy! As any other package of seasoning this one also requires you to add a pound of beef for best results. Also you can add pork or chicken it doesn't really matter as this seasoning will make your dinner taste absolutely delicious! Unlike Oldepaso seasoning mix, McCormick has a different more natural and herbal taste to it which is great for me. It doesn't make the liquid in the frying pan to get thick and gelatin like, like Oldepaso seasoning mix does, it gives just the perfect taste and all over seasoning cover. The other night I made stuffed red peppers and used this mix for my ground turkey stuffing and it was absolutely delicious! Just the right amount of spices and a great herbal taste! I give this product a 5 star rating and highly recommend it for usage not only with beef and/ or tacos but also for using with turkey, pork or chicken breast. This seasoning will sure give your dinner a balanced delicious kick and will give your family and guest smth to look forward to for the next dinner gatherings to come!
We love to have tacos for dinner. The variety of cheeses and other tasty items is always fun to eat. This McCormick Mexican Seasoning mix is great. We are not Hispanic and have no idea how to make a sauce taste authentic. This is why we enjoyed this seasoning mix. It tastes great and it is mild. We don't like highly seasoned spicy food, so this mix was perfect. Not too hot and very tasty. Just add it to your favorite chopped beef and you will love it.
There are so many varieties of powdered taco seasoning available nowadays, the choices can be overwhelming! That being said, with so much variety, one can easily find taco seasoning to suit whatever the family's taste or dietary requirements may be. This is the Mild version of McCormick Taco Seasoning Mix, and the preparation instructions are very similar to those for other McCormick taco seasonings. I used a pound of ground chuck for the meat in these tacos, as well as flour tortillas, sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese, and salsa -- pretty much identical to how I would normally prepare tacos. The prepared taco meat had a seasoning level very close to what I normally shoot for with homemade chili (a very mild "no-alarm" version, for the sake of my sensitive stomach). My spouse commented that he found the taco meat to be quite toothsome, and that the seasonings didn't overwhelm the meat itself (something he's complained about in the past). Even my sensitive stomach (which often "vetoes" foods my taste buds heartily approve of) seems to enjoy this mild taco seasoning! I did burp once after supper this evening; however, that's a much milder reaction than I normally have to spicy food, so I'm still well-satisfied with the modest spiciness in this taco seasoning. McCormick Mild Taco Seasoning Mix is a perfect choice when preparing tacos for children, adults with sensitive stomachs, and anyone with a preference for low levels of spiciness in their diet. It's quite reasonably priced, and is well worth seeking out at your local Walmart. Enjoy!
I used the taco seasoning for something other than tacos. The recipe I chose is a taco potato dish that calls for 5 potatoes (peeled and cubed), oil, taco seasoning and cheese. After I peeled and cubed the potatoes, I tossed them in oil and the taco seasoning and baked the dish for about 20 minutes. Then I added shredded cheese on top and continued baking for another 20 minutes. The taco flavor in the dish was just as it claimed to be --- it was mild. It was not too spicy, nor was it too salty. I added no salt to the dish and the taco seasoning provided enough salty taste. The flavor is mild and can be used in dishes other than tacos. I recommend this seasoning mix for dishes that are in the mid-range of Mexican spiciness.
I was a little unsure about this product because several years ago I tried it and the taste was just way too salty. However, this time around my family and I were pleasantly surprised. Browning the meat is a no brainer and we used ground beef. I am so sure this mix would work well with ground turkey! The mix took a little work to get rid of the clumps. I recommend mixing the water and taco mix in a separate cup (or bowl/container) before adding to the meat. Then add the meat, and at that point it is just so easy to let the meat simmer. If you let the meat rest for 5-10 minutes after cooking, the flavor has a moment really settle. The flavor is strong without being overpowering. It is not spicy at all, yet has a little Mexican-TexMex infused spice to it. Again, it is NOT spicy, but it has just kick of flavor enough to make meat taste scrumptious! This is very easy and I would daresay a lazy way to make Taco night a hit!! Just warm up some tortillas, add a little lettuce, some cheese, and tomato! Maybe top with sour cream like I did. You have a perfect dinner! I grew up on this easy taco night meal and I'm so glad I tried it again. Not at all too salty. In fact, if I had one negative thing to say is there was maybe a bit too much mix. I would have easily made 1 and a half pound of meat instead of just one pound.
McCormick is so well known for their various seasonings that they've become a staple in many homes. With this in mind, I was eager to go wild for mild; and, I almost did. The seasoning packet includes paprika, chili pepper, cumin, onion, salt, sugar, and garlic - all of the essentials to tickle the taste buds. The packet has easy-to-understand directions on the back side (i.e. brown meat in large skillet...) with clear-cut measurements (i.e. 3/4 cup water). It even offers a recipe for a twist on taco night; the recipe included on the back of my packet was for Taco Pizza (sounds great). I twisted the taco recipe a bit and used it with soy crumbles (an alternative to meat). It tasts close to meat and the seasonings remain the same regardless of the protein chosen. The flavor of the Mild Taco Seasoning Mix was bold and rich. It had great flavor. Just a little strong for a Mild Taco Seasoning Mix, in my opinion. To be fair, I have tried other taco seasoning mixes made by other companies and I prefer McCormick over the others. So, I would buy McCormick's Mild Taco Seasoning Mix in the future because I think it is good. I would just try to find a way to compensate for the richness of these sultry spices with a dollop of sour cream.
I tried the Mild Taco seasoning and Original Taco seasoning both. In checking the ingredients the mild has a little more chili peppers and oregano, otherwise they are very close in ingredients and taste. If you are not a fan of spicy food I would pick the original taco seasoning by McCormick. I made both of these and taste tested my family and they couldn’t tell much of a difference. You can use this for seven layer dip also (see the recipe on the back). All you need to make this is 1 lb. of lean ground beef or turkey, water, the seasoning packet, and taco shells or flour tortillas for your tacos or burritos. This meat is very versatile for many recipes. You can use this meat for many types of Mexican meals. I liked it and the seasoning is good.
