This McCormick Cheesy Taco Seasoning Mix was really good. You mix with milk instead of water, and it comes out cheesy. It was really good; everyone ate well, including the toddlers. After a long day it makes up an easy, fast, tasty batch of Taco's; and that is always a win at our house. We will be purchasing more of this flavor too for those busy nights, and I can think of two recipes where the cheesy flavor would be handy so I cant wait to try that as well. So this is a win and time savor.
We love this McCormick Cheesy Taco Seasoning. It has natural spices, no MSG and no artificial flavors. To make this, you will need 1 pound of lean ground beef or turkey, ¾ cup of milk and 12 taco shells or 6 inch flour tortillas. The recipe is right on the package. It is really easy to make, and only takes 5 minutes prep time and 10 minutes cook time. You can add shredded lettuce and diced tomatoes as well as some shredded Mexican cheese to make really good tacos. There is also a recipe on the package for Cheesy Taco Burgers that looks really good.
This taco packet is a good purchase. I would recommend it. It tastes just like it says, cheesy taco seasoning. Before adding cheese it tastes like cheesy taco meat. It's nicely seasoned with out adding any extra seasonings. It's fast, easy to cook and yummy. Defiantly give it a try! My family will be buying it again for sure.
We used the McCormick Mexican Seasoning Mix in the Cheesy Taco flavor last weekend. Rather than making tacos, we decided to cook up some hamburger, use the flavoring mix and make nachos. It just sounded good! We were very pleased with the overall flavor of the seasoning in the meat. It was not so spicy as to create heartburn, but had good flavor. Of course, we added more things to our nachos (some of us more than others), but it was good enough to try again in the future. If you don't have an extensive spice collection at home, or don't like to cook a lot, just buy one of these packets and add it to your next pound of hamburger (or ground turkey - I think it would taste just as good with turkey), and you'll have quick and tasty tacos or nachos.
Our family loves tacos, so trying out new taco seasoning is fun! This was a new one for us, so of course we let the youngest try it first. She loved it. Her father and I liked it ok, but it isn't really spicy like regular taco seasoning. It's more creamy with the cheese and I am positive it is a hit with small children because it's really cheesy AND it isn't spicy. I definitely recommend this if you have small, picky eaters!
We rarely make tacos in our household but we decided to give this seasoning mix a try. I love cheese so dinner was even better having cheesy tacos! Seasoning mix was easy to make with great directions on the back. My kids absolutely loved the tacos and my husband (who is super picky about his tacos) also loved the tacos. We will definitely be buying more in the future to make!
I'd been using McCormick Taco Seasoning in its various flavors for years so I assumed this would be the same. Well that old saying about assuming was certainly true in this case. I cooked up the meat and drained the fat before taking the season envelope out of the cupboard. Checking to make sure it took the same amount of WATER that the other flavors take I found out that I had made a mistake. This flavor uses Milk instead. I was out. The finished product probably would have been much tastier if I had been able to use the milk; however, it still tasted good. Moral of the story: Read the label before you cook!
I very seldom use package mixes but thought I would give this one a try since it was a Taco mix. The package calls for one pound of ground beef and 3/4 cup of milk. Yes, you read this right "milk" I browned more then one pound of ground beef and added some chopped onions to give it more flavor. After i drained the grease from the beef I added the milk and the package seasoning mix. Your're expecting the color of the mixture to be red but no it's more of a light terra cotta color or dark peach. This was a cheesy taco mix with powdered cheese mixed into the taco seasoning. It looked strange but I tasted a tiny bit of the sauce and it was pretty tasty. I added more ground beef to the mixture because it looked like there wasn't enough meat. The instruction says to bring the mixture to a boil then turn the heat down. I let it simmer for about ten minutes or less. Instead of making tacos I made small burritos with flour tortillas and put diced fresh tomatoes and slivered lettuce with the mixture. This would not be enough food for our lunch so I made up a quick taco salad using the remainder of the ground beef. The salad went very well with the cheesy taco burritos. It had a very good flavor, wasn't very spicy or salty. Maybe because I added more then twice the amount of beef. We could take more spicy, but it was still very good. Eating it as a burito was less messy and more enjoyable. If you are cooking for more then three people you'll need to use two packages of the cheesy taco mix and definitely add onions and more ground beef. The powdered cheese in the mix reminds me of a box of Mac & cheese.
I am not a big fan of pre made seasoning packets. To me they contain too much sodium, which in my opinion this packet is one of those but the taste was not too bad. It is very similar to the regular taco seasoning mix with just a slight hint of cheesy flavor. I would have personally liked a little more cheese flavor with maybe a creamy cheesy consistency. My husband absolutely loved it but he grew up on packet seasonings. If you are looking for a little variety in your easy dinners it's worth a try but I would not make it a weekly routine due to the sodium content. I used ground turkey and tortillas with added shredded cheese.
I did not find this to be anything much different than regular taco seasoning (which I do enjoy) However, one difference you is add milk. I am assuming this is to reconstitute the cheese. The flavor is almost the same as the regular mix. The cooking process is the same, both quick and easy. I WOULD get this if the regular taco seasoning is out. It has the same spice level and seasonings I use anyhow. Like most seasoning packets, it carries a high salt, but low calories content. Since I already add cheese to my tacos, I do feel this is just redundant.
