Jo Beth Williams, George Segal and Shelley Hack star in this outrageous comedy about a successful writer who discovers the insanity of modern romance when he falls in love with the girl next door - who just happens to be a pyromaniac with multiple personalities. As "Crazy Diane," JoBeth Williams is a growling, howling urban nightmare, suffering from paranoia, nymphomania, and a really bad hair day. Her neighbor, TV-writer Buddy Arnette (George Segal), is subject to her constant commentary on sex, violence and invisible persecutors through paper-thin walls. But when Crazy Diane manages to seduce Buddy, her alter-ego - "Sane Diane" - appears. What follows is a love story both tender and original, as these two jaded New Yorkers discover that love works in mysterious ways.
