I get these for my kids to use for school or to journal in. I will pay extra for this brand of composition cause other cheap ones seem to fall apart. I was very aware of this product before I tried it out and still love it over others. The binding is very sturdy and the front and back are good quality. The only hard thing is you don't want to use it for something you need to rip the paper out of cause that's hard. I would recommend the mead black Composition book to family and friends. I am a freelance Makeup Artist so I am always taking notes and composing my schedule for the months ahead. I prefer using composition books over a standard notebook because of the binding making it more difficult for pages to tear out. The Mead Black Marble Composition Book is perfect. It is very sturdy, the paper does not bleed through and it white instead of off white/cream like other brands. I was originally sent this product complimentary for testing purposes and have since gone and purchased multiple back ups for myself as well as for my children. While I know they have many great uses in the classroom, I have always loved using them for personal notebooks, journals and things along those lines. The covers are extremely sturdy! They're very easy to cover, decorate and personalize in what ever way you like! I am a complete addict of anything I deem useful for creative projects. I have notebooks that cost more than $40 down to notebooks that cost less than $1. Overall, I'll take one of these any day!

These are the greatest notebooks ever, but I really miss the old "Mead Composition Book" label. It was a classic.
This was an all around great deal. I did some research and comparisons. And this deal was the clear winner. Walmart.com puts the deals out there. If you snooze you loose. Definitely a recommendation to buy. Four for one. Yes!!!!

It's what I expected except for the rigidity of the material. I seem to remember these being more solid and rigid, but maybe I just have a wishful memory. Other than that, Mead typically makes solid products and this is no different.
Mead has changed the way the composition books are made. Teachers would request these books because the covers were thick and would stand the test of the school year. The new books have thin covers like all of the rest of the composition books that are on the market. I was very disappointed because we searched high and low for these books in the stores and ended up having to order them, to get them and the expectation not be met.
I will never order site to store again. The price was great. The free shipping was great. When I picked up the school supplies.....EVERYTHING was bent, creased and in bad shape. Free shipping does not mean sacrifice in quality. No care was taken in how the product was shipped. I will never ship site to store again. Very bad walmart!
