I have already 10 months with this pump. I used it daily at work and also at home. So easy and efficient to use. One of the biggest contributors of my success on giving my baby only breast milk, is this pump. I would totally recommend this pump!
I have the Pump In Style from my first pregnancy over four years ago. I got a new hospital grade pump (different brand) through my insurance and was so excited to use it, but have been really disappointed in it. I ended up going back to my Medela pump and I'm much more comfortable. It's so much simpler, too, no confusing trial and errors.
I am currently in the hospital for a c-section for premature labor (baby is doing well btw!) and this is my first baby and this pump was so easy to use! I love it! It helped gently but efficiently make my milk come in and helps me get every last drop! Although this is the hospitals i had already ordered one! Super happy for this coincidence!
I AM AN EXCLUSIVE PUMPER ONLY.. THIS PUMP IS GREAT! I AM A 1ST TIME MOM WHO WAS NOT PLANNING ON BREAST FEEDING BUT DUE TO SOME COMPLICATIONS DURING BIRTH THE DRS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED BREAST MILK FOR MY SON. IT IS AN EXTREME AMOUNT OF WORK CONSIDERING I AM A 911 DISPATCHER AND I WORK SWING SHIFTS.. DIFFRENT EVERY WEEK. THIS PUMP IS SMALL BUT POWERFUL! ALTHOUGH I THINK I MAY BE WEARING IT OUT .. I THINK IT HAS LOST SOME SUCTION POWER.. I HOPE IT HOLDS ON AND KEEPS WORKING FOR THE NEXT FEW MONTHS UNTIL I CAN SWITCH MY SON TO WHOLE MILK. I HAVE TOLD MY AUNT WHO ALSO RECENTLY HAD A BABY AND IS NOW A MEDELA PUMP OWNER AND ALSO SEVERAL FRIENDS! THEY ALSO LOVE MEDELA!
It works great. Super easy to use.
I bought this model back in 2011 when I had my second child and continued to use it on and off for 6 years until I no longer needed it after I was done nursing my fifth and final child. While I was in nursing school full time it was very convenient having everything I needed securely in one bag that I could just grab and go like a second handbag, actually it was the only handbag I'd bring with me on the days I had to be at the hospital all day. I stored pumped milk in the small insulated bag with an ice pack that fit inside the big bag. I also bought a car charger that was sold as an accessory to this model but I never ended up needing to use it. Overall I can't recall ever having any issues and give it a big thumbs up!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got a list of pumps and parts to select from through my insurance while I was pregnant. After asking other moms and reading reviews I decided on the medela pump in style advanced backpack. I went back to work after my baby turned 3 months so the backpack was great to store everything, take it to work or eben pump super easy in my car if I had to. The pump is secure in the backpack and won't fall out. I also got a pump bra so with the backpack in my shoulders i could even do the dishes or something while pumping.
Difficult to turn on and off due to the location and size of the knob. Makes it extremely hard to manuever even with one hand free. The 2nd let down feature is helpful in greater emptying of the breast and the pump overall is very efficient. Convenient bag that also makes carrying it discrete.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used this pump for 3 months now. I prefer it over my other branded pump. It's much easier to use and empties my breasts much faster. One thing I did change was to use duck bill valves. I was constantly losing the white disks. I also wish it was removable from the bag for home pumping.
I've been lightly using my medela since May.. and even with letting the pump run and clear the tubing it has left black mold in the tubes. I'm now having to replace multiple parts and dump everything I've pumped in three days.
