I looked at these at a local medical supply company. Same product - but it cost twice there than @ Sam's, and that was BEFORE shipping costs were added in. This one came in quickly, delivered right to my front door, set up in minutes, and cost less than any others I found. A good purchase.
will be having surgery in the near future and this was recommended to purchase. hopefully when the time comes, I will not be disappointed. It seems to be sturdy and of good quality
I purchased this raised toliet seat from Sams and have used it approximately 10 days post surgery. I am very pleased with the locking aspect and the arms which were essential to me as I can not fully bear weight. The item was shipped the next day after ordering and even with a holiday weekend, it was received before my surgery, which was reassuring. . .
the handles really help in rising
It does raise the height of the toilet - arms are a plus for helping ones self up-sturdy product - good buy.
It was the best thing I bought for my sons hip surgery. It really help him so much.
This is for my mom who broke her hip. It is a great devise for seniors who have difficulty going from sitting to standing. It maintains their independence.
Bought this for my 150 lb hubby to replace the cheap commode we were using over the toilet since his stroke last year. The commode frame was getting in the way of his wheelchair brake handles when wheeling up to the toilet to make his transfer. The 'lift' is a bit too high for a standard toilet- his feet dangle 2" off the floor once he sits down. The 'locking' feature only keeps the seat from rocking forward (it hooks under the rear bowl rim and has a tightening screw in front, on the outside of the bowl) If the patient leans on one or the other of the armrests, the whole thing rocks drastically sideways-the only thing that kept it from going all the way over was that he caught himself on the vanity top next to the toilet.
This product was delivered in a timely manner. It seems to be made of good materials but unfortunately does NOT lock onto the toilet seat. The design has an extension that is designed to hook under the back edge of the toilet. If the toilet bowl isn't exactly round (like mine), there is no lip for it to reach. The solution, it seems to me, would have been to put the "hooks" on the sides. Oh well. Lesson learned and product returned.
Arms are not secured on both sides or ends. Each arm only has tabs to secure it on one end and then they are very loose. The other end is smooth metal and slides up and down. Together it's very loose and not at all tight like it should be.
