I had already " clayed " car ( heavily contaminated black paint/clear coat L. A. car ) used Meguiar's Ultimate compound to restore faded areas on top of car before using Meguiar's Ultimate paste wax, a little bit of wax on applicator goes along way . 4 coats of wax on top areas of car, 2 coats on lower body panels for now ( this classic car never looked better A 1999 Olds Aurora Autobahn Edition ) No rust just shiny black paint & chrome wheels thanks you Meguiar's . I wax again as needed when I see how car holds up in Las Vegas sun. Product was easy to apply & remove A GREAT PRODUCT LOVE IT >
This may be high tech but it's also old school in that it is a only a paint protectant. I've used this stuff since it first came out and am well pleased with the results. On my 2009 truck I only have to wax once a year now. But there are a few things a prospective user should know. It will not remove water spots, bug guts, road tar etc. It works best on new or freshly clayed paint. For best results I apply a very thin coat in full sun. To do otherwise will cause a long drying time and lots of buffing. Once applied bug guts etc will almost remove themselves. On my dark red truck it made the paint look deep and wet and on a pearl white paint job and it really made the pearl pop.
I've used this wax for years on multiple vehicles. Applying it has always been easy. Removing it once it's dried is hard if you do it in sunlight. But this last time around I used it on my black 02 yukon. I knew it was gonna be a hot day so I asked my boss if I could pull my truck into our warehouse that's air conditioned and did it inside. It dried to a perfect film that wiped off as easy as it went on. I also washed and clay barred the truck before waxing. Will continue using this.

I'm convinced Meguiar's Ultimate Liquid Wax and Meguiar's Ultimate Paste Wax are the best waxes you can buy - or close to it. - A bit pricey but worth it to me - For one thing, the durability means I'm not waxing quite as often - Hydrophobic wax that beads the water for a solid year - Truly protects the paint - Gives my 20 year old Caravan and 17 year old Dakota impressive shines like new - I apply Mequiar's to my brand new cars to give them an outstanding start on life
I use this along with the Meguiars DA (dual action scrubber. It says use a drill.around 1500 speed but most all.your newer cordless.and.corded drills will have that speed. Its easy to apply by hand or my recommendation is the DA system becuase it cuts your time literally to 20-30min. The Megs ult wax, was easy too put on and easier to take off for a beautiful luster...along.with the other DA products to get your car to that mirror finish. Yes there are 2 to 3 presteps DA products that come with another foam applicator and a small size compound or polisher paste all to be had for around $10 to $15 dollars but ordering them is easier to find on Wal-Mart .com. I chose them becuase they had a bundle kit with all three pastes and the DA drills pad applicator as well for $30 or so bucks less than Amazon and Wal-Mart now offers 2 day shipping that is alot cheaper than.amazon. yes I am an online deal shopping Junkie and found out almost all the things I need were even or cheaper on Wal-Mart.com. this is also great because if you live near a walmart you can pick it up most of the time it is in stock so your choice where to shop but comparing Amazon to walmart, I find either place for great prices are close but lately Wal-Mart had almost everything I was looking for and was cheaper than Amazon. Also seeing the product in person really helps to and the Wal-Mart app lets you scan the barcode for prices and comparison shopping. Not only will your car thank you....your wallet will as well! Thanks Wal-Mart for making shopping easy from computer to store or door!
Best paste wax, especially for dark color vehicles. The wax version lasts longer than the liquid. For best results, claybar/polish/wash the vehicle first. I do small portions of each panel at a time, like a quarter to 1/3 of the hood, etc. Only use on cool panels, not in direct sunlight. That's where most people run into issues or try to do too much at one time a small amount of water on microfiber application pad helps spread it easier too. Don't wait too long to polish it. I use 2 new microfiber cloths each time I wax. One to get the majority of the wax off, and then one to clean any left over which creates the ideal finish. Sometimes. If there's any residue or heavily oxidized areas. I'll go over it again after the first application and polish, especially on black paint like I have.
Best wax for a new car look Use a foam applicator spray foam with small amount water do 1 section at a time wipe with terry cloth towel you you will love results

I have been using this Meguiars wax for A year. I was so happy with it as it was making the body of my car so smooth and it was giving a very great shine to it. I thought I am protecting my paint until today that I noticed this color change on my drivers side door. I waxed my car about a month a go last time, and now I have this. I am super sad with what happened to my lovely paint. I wish I havent used anything at all. Be careful when using this product on your car.
