Very nice set of play money. Comes in a really nice wooden case. I recommend it.
help my son with counting
Purchased as training material for a financial institution - absolutely perfect, giving the students more of a real life look at what a cash drawer will be.
I purchased this set for my adopted daughter who is 7 years old. he is home schooled, so the money set was perfect for her to learn how to make change, count, and know the values of money.
I bought this for my 2nd grader b/c I wanted him to learn each denomination and how the coins can equal the dollars. He loves the money for the look! It's close to the real deal (paper bills). The only con is that I wished it had a lid to secure the bills & coins so that when we store it away, the contents would remain in tact. Now we just sit in on his dresser until he wants to play with it. But overall, the kids love it.
Perfect for homeschooling purposes! For anyone looking for thicker bills for younger kids, these are not them, they are just like paper. coins are plastic. But I love the wooded case and they are printed wonderfully and will work well with my 7 year old!
The money--bills and coins--are terrific. And the wooden box is great as far as it goes--nice and sturdy. However, it really is useless since it doesn't have any kind of a cover. I do personal finance workshops and carry the money with me from venue to venue. Instead of keeping the money in the wooden boxes, I had put everything into Ziplock bags in order to safely transport it.
I just contacted customer service this afternoon because the set I bought had two packages of quarters and no nickels. M&D are currently out of stock on these sets, but the CS rep took down my info and will be getting back to me about hopefully getting replacement nickels. We haven't used the money yet except for the pennies as we just opened it today, but it seems very well made. Maybe a future set could have a lid for easy storage and transporting.
I would love to be able to give this product 5 stars but unfortunately when we opened it and started playing with it, we noticed that for the nickels it was actually another packet of quarters. All the other bills and coins we correct though. I made it work by putting red marker in the "nickels" to tell the difference while teaching my daughter.
This was exactly what I wanted to help teach our kids $ concepts. However, it included the wrong set of bills- there are no $10 and two stacks of $20. We already opened it and started using it, so I can't return it. So bummed. Otherwise, great item.
