love everything about these shorts, have two pair that I wear both to work and on the course. Have no beefs about the comfort, moisture control, stretch and all the other features of these shorts other than the front pockets seem a little shallow, not deep at all. Is there a reason they were designed them like this?
A) I haven't golfed in three years but I imagine these shorts would be ideal for golfing. B) I have, however, worn them regularly for nearly every other activity - hikes, cycling, travel, casually, etc. These have been my go-to hiking shorts for the past two years. Most casual bike rides too plus multiple overnight bike-camping trips. C) The fit is perfect, the material is perfect, the stretch is perfect, the inside waistband is hardcore and keeps the shorts from ever shifting around (i think its intended to keep your golf shirt tucked in). Super comfortable. Not baggy and not slim. Nicely fitted. D) The ONLY knock is that the front pockets are pretty shallow. But that's it. I'm fairly certain i've spent an entire week+ in these and didn't bother to put on other shorts. Highly recommend.
Nice shorts and true to size. I'm a size 33 in jeans so I ordered a size 34 in these shorts. There's about a quarter inch of slack as expected since I sized up. I was worried they would be too short in length but they worked out ok. I'm 6'0 tall and these shorts come right at the top of my knee.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall I love the shorts but they are definitely cut different then the match play shorts I have purchased in the past. I bought one size larger then I previously had and they were still way to small.
These are great shorts, but unfortunately, the shorts road up in the rear. I didn't notice it before, but you can even notice it in the second picture of the model. I am 6'0, 200# with an athletic build, and the Size 34 fit perfect in my waist, but I don't think these shorts are the right fit for people with more muscular/thicker legs and rear.
Based on general reviews, I ordered a size 34 when typically a 32/33 waist fits me better. From a waist standpoint, that was a great choice as they fit perfect. Found the material and flexibility to be exactly what I would expect out of an Under Armour product but there are two key things that will keep me from wearing these shorts all the time: 1. The pockets are a bit shallow. Fine for golf balls or tees, but if you want to go anywhere before or after and put normal things in your pocket - iPhone, car keys - they're a bit small. 2. More importantly, the crotch point in the shorts is too snug for my taste. Even wearing Under Armour Boxerjocks which keeps things more together, it still feels a bit off. It's not so bad once you get going in them, but your not getting that "favorite pair of shorts" feeling when you put them on.
Purchased 2 pair of MP shorts last week online with the expectation they were very similar to the BG 2.0 shorts. The BG 2.0 shorts are the favorite golf shorts I own. I was sadly disappointed. The MP shorts are a different cut and fit from the BG 2.0 shorts. The 2 pair I purchased were the same size at my BP 2.0's (36")...BUT: They have the same inseam (11"), however the overall length is 1" shorter in the MP's. The difference coming from waist to crotch. They also have a much thinner fit thru the thighs and hips. At 6'3, 195lbs, and in my 40's, I like to go for comfort over fashion trends, these are borderline for me, not sure if I will wear come golf season or not yet. The fabric and the new waist band are great.
The material is nice. Length is good. Waist was perfect. But there is no room for a man in the crotch. I have to feel that it is not that way with every pair, but it was with the ones I got. That has become a calling card of Under Armour. I can order 5 of the same UA items and get 5 completely different fits. It has become annoying.
I have 6 pair of UA shorts, the styles that have a pattern design fit terrific and have deep pockets, not true of the solid colors. The material is great but the fit is smaller and some fit worse than others. The pockets on the solid colors are very shallow and the crotch is tight so I purchased a size larger but those are too large.
I purchased 3 pairs of these shorts in the size 34. Gray, Academy (Navy Blue) and Black. The Gray shorts were the largest and fit more like the 34" waisted pants I had tried on at stores. The Academy were slightly snugger but manageable; however the black shorts were too tight and felt more like a 33" possibly 32". I was surprised by this inconsistency in sizing by Under Armour. Also these shorts run shorter than my other golf shorts. For me being 6'3" these shorts are about 1/2" higher on my leg than pictured on the model. Maybe that is the new trend since the pro guys are wearing skinny pants and high tops but I prefer my shorts to go to my knees. The material is great, the stretch fabric is awesome and I'm looking forward to wearing the gray and academy. On the logistics side the ordering process was great, shipping was fast. I would say the price is competitive with the market but I think the overall market is overpriced.
