I bought these skates to learn how to skate. I don't know how and I'm planning on joining a derby team when i turn 21. The first thing i noticed when i put them on is that there was no support or cushion at all on the bottom. I have really bad feet so i had to buy inserts otherwise i can only skate for 10 minutes. After that i found that the wheels kept sticking and where really hard to turn sometimes but nothing a little DW40 couldn't fix. Other then that i love these skates. I think they are great if your a beginner like i am.
These skates are great. I've been glued to them since they arrived and SO happy with the 97 cent shipping alternative. I'll be surely getting another pair when these wear out. Fast, perfect indoors and out - I use them more often outdoors. They are awesome!
I had ordered a pair for my daughter, I liked them so much that I ordered two more pair for my son and I. They are so smooth and comfortable. They are great for the price. When they wear out, we will order more! Thank you very much.
I am a 44 year old mom who purchased the skates for myself. I know they are men skates, but I have a big foot. Eventhough they are men skates the black color make them a neutral color, I put me some purple laces in them. These skates help me spend time with my 7 year old while she skates.
I purchased these quads for my 10yr old son. He had been asking for skates for some time but the local sports stores had the exact same quad priced $15 higher than these. My son loved them because he said they are smooth and quiet and so much more comfortable than the ones you rent at the roller rink. I was very pleased with the product.
When I came to the decision to purchase a pair of skates instead of renting those dated brown and orange jobbies at the local rink, I was amazed at just how much one could pay for a pair, some as much as $600. Yikes, no thanks. Then I stumbled on these babies, read what others had to say, and made the purchase. I'm in no way a serious skater, but I've got style and flair (so others say..haha), and I like to race around and croutch and kick to the tunes. Well, come on folks, look no further. For $40, these skates definitely delivered a thrill ride. The only critique I have to offer is that the wheels were a little tight, but I just loosened the locking nut and it made a huge difference. I'm a product of the 80's and I truly forgot just how much fun quads are. Now my sister's husband wants a pair. Let's bring it back!
I will preface this by mentioning that I play roller derby and am used to indoor high quality skates. I bought these to use outside because they were so cheap. These are decent beginner skates, but if you are looking for speed and stability I would buy a better quality skate. The wheels that come on them are probably the worst wheels I've ever skated on, and I recommend changing the laces when you get them to a shorter version so you don't trip. Pretty good skates for a non-serious skater or children.
the skates are good but the problem is they put cheap bearings and my son just used it for 1 day then we have to have the bearings changed.i don't mind paying a little more as long as the product has good parts on it.
Even for an outdoor roller skate, I think this product is not suitable. The wheels do not spin freely if you manually turn them. There is virtually no insole support to the boot at all. The axel was not even centered to the boot of one of the skates. I believe this is a poorly manufactured product for the price.
If you are looking for serious skates, do not buy these. The plate and the trucks are one solid piece so that you do not have proper maneuverability. The wheels are more a skateboard wheel than a skate wheel, and do not roll far, as the bearings cannot be loosened (they're not skate bearings). I didn't even have fun with these skating up and down my street. If you need something to look fun in your garage, these are your skates.
