I like the canopy it really made out outdoor space complete. However they do need to work on a few areas. The corners don't stay down so I'm constantly pulling them down over the frame. They need another hook at the bottom to keep them in place. The sides pocket and fill up with water they need to be hooked to the frame somehow also. Overall though I do like the canopy and found it to be a good value. Thank you.
My husband and I love it. I first bought it 3 weeks before mothers day. We had a bad storm the night before mothers day and it was demolished. So I ended up with another one for mothers day. Its really nice to eat under or just sit out in the morning and drink coffee..Just make sure if bad weather is expected, TAKE IT DOWN..
The canopy on the product dries out from the sun, and holds puddles when it rains, therefore the canopy has seperated in the seams in various areas.
Bought this for our deck--beautiful once set up, even saw it in the Better Homes & Garden magazine a week after putting up. 1 1/2 weeks after seeing it in the magazine, we had a thunderstorm and it blew it over and broke the bars and now we are out $160. What a shame considering it has BHG's name on it. Don't waste your money.
My husband and I were extremely excited to get this canopy and could not wait to set it up. We had a wind storm about 3 days after we put it up and it literally blew apart. It became a mangled mess that could not be put back together. It did look beautiful it just wasn't made for the winds.
I agree with those who give it 2 years MAX!!! The first year I had mildew growing on the canopy and it gets LOTS of sun. I called the company to ask what I could do and they had NO idea!! It turned a funny green brown shade by the second year and then became brittle and finally ripped in several places. But the worst part was the rust started the second year. This is SUPPOSED to be rust free!!! the ONLY thing I liked was not having to deal with an umbrella. It gave us great shade as we entertain a quite a bit and South Carolina has sun 95 % of the time!
I bought this product last March. The first wind that came the whole thing blew over and bent. Reassembled and attempted to salvage the crumpled mess. Anchored the legs to concrete patio and the next wind that came bent the canopy frame. The metal is not strong at all. Needless to say the awning finally bit the dust completely by August and had to be thrown away. I would definately consider a different product unless you don't mind throwing money to the wind.
I have wanted one of these for years, but couldn't afford it, got one this year, set it up on Saturday, Sunday used it briefly, Got up to go to work on Monday, and it was a tangeled mess in my back yard. This was even after tied down, with the steaks they provide in the box. I love to sit outside, and would of used it everyday. So off to the garbage it goes to. So much for getting something you have wanted for so long. Also I don't see how the screws and poles can rust over night. Thanks but no thanks
I purchased this item on June 6. 2008, now it is only June 18 2006. I no longer have the unit. It became a big messy junk of metal. I built the unit, and staked it in the dirt ground in my yard. It seemed sturdy, and well held down by the stakes. When just a little wind came the other night, it just got destroyed. It did not blow away , it actually stayed staked intot he ground, and the metal beams actually broke off from the top. The metal looked like shredded paper. It was beyond repair. Screwss even detached from the metal beams. I woke up and saw the roof of the unit on the floor. The unit just leaned to the side and all the bars bent and broke, I was in disbelief. I was shocked. The metal on this unit and so weak, and will bend just with a little wind. This unit was made for the outdoors, but can not with hold even the slightess outdoor elements. It was the worse thing I ever purchased. It's unfortunate, but it's true. Now I am going to try and receive a refund, lets see where that goes. I can not accept that I bought a big chunk of scrap metal with curtains.
A blow dryer would send this thing flying and the canvas cover ripping. Curtains only cover corners and provide no privacy. I set this up at lunch. I came home from work and it was blowing away. The only place I'd recommend this canopy is indoors.
