This comforter was purchased for my youngest son who loves anything to do with sea life and his favorite color happened to be blue. When I saw this comforter I thought I had won the lottery. It was the perfect color blue and had all his favorite marine animals on it, dolphins, whales, a few sharks, tropical fish, sea turtles and the colors are truly amazing. Crayola out did itself on this one. I didn't buy the matching sheets but that is what I am getting next. My son couldn't wait to make his bed and had so much fun picking out all the animals and kept asking me the ones he didn't know it was a pround mommy moment for me. He is 4 1/2 and know quite a bit. It washes well too. You can't go wrong with this one!!!!
We love the new Crayola comforter. It's too hot for these summer months, but looks terrific on the bed when made. I never understand why tags are always sewn up at the top (where people's heads are) instead of the bottom that touches the floor. I removed two of the four tags, but left the Crayola and cleaning instructions.
This undersea-themed comforter set is a beautiful deep blue shade, perfect for my 6-year-old's new room. Throw in a fish border & a couple cool pics with the dolphins in Florida, and my big boy moved on from the Wiggles with style and a bright splash of color. Washes well, is soft & reversable, too!
I bought this comforter for my 8-year-old stepdaughter who is currently obsessed with the ocean and everything in it. She actually squealed when she opened the box. I bought some BRIGHT yellow sheets to go w/ it and the combo brightened up her room. Along with her 24" inch stuffed great white shark, she loves getting in to bed at night! I have already washed the comforter and it appears to be well made and durable. Only slight problem is that Crayola put all the tags on the top edge and not the bottom edge and the comforter only goes on one way to make the ocean scene correct with water on top and coral reef on bottom. They are a bit scratchy. Debating whether to cut them off.
Great product, vibrant colors, good quality for the money. Only wish the sheets were included with the set..didn't realize sheets were sold separate until after I got it home.
This comforter is great for my son's room. He's 3. The colors are vibrant. The comforter is a bit stiff but after washing, it gets softer.
I bought the comforter and curtains for my daughter's room since she is into under the sea for a theme. We love the set. :)
I like the design, my 2 year old son loved all the sea animals on the comforter. I like that it's not baby-ish and hopefully will suit him as he gets older. I didn't buy the sheets that go with (thought they came with it) so I went out and bought some plain color sheets that match, lime green and royal/aqua blue (found at Walmart). I read other reviews that the comforter (and probably the sheets too) can be very rough, stiff, and scratchy. I did some research online and found that to wash first, but without soap! Use a cup or two of salt only, in cold water in the first wash (I hear vinegar will work too, not sure about salt + vinegar though) give it a long soak if you can. With any kind of bedding with printed images (or any cheap sheets) the chemicals used in the process to print are still in the material. More soap, and especially fabric softeners, will add to the problem and make the sheets more rough, not softer. The salt (or vinegar) helps clear out the chemicals which softens the sheets. After one washing with salt only the fabric seems significantly softer and acceptable for me. I didn't wash again with soap before putting on the bed. Did the same to the plain color (stiff and cheap) sheets too and softened them up nice. BTW I used kosher salt, the coarser type, which may have worked better than table salt since the rough agitation of the larger salt grains against the fabric may have added to the softening effect.
I got this comforter set for my 7 year old daughter who absolutely loves sea life and the ocean. The colors are very vibrant, and she just loves it! The comforter is a bit on the scratchy side, but I washed it before we used it, and it's somewhat better. But you can't beat it for the price!!
I have been watching this blanket on ebay and here on walmart.com for months...with the rollback, we grabbed one for each of our kids for Christmas as we're redoing their room in an ocean theme. However, we are really disappointed...it is indeed as stiff and scratchy as other reviewers have stated, and not at all cuddly for the kids. While it is pretty and vivid, I would not recommend it. Strangely enough, the side with the fish is softer than the underside, which is also disappointing since you sleep under the most scratchy part. Best of luck.
