I bought this swingset as I wanted my grandson (a year old this coming January '12) to experience the swing that my kids, and others, did when they were younger. The swing is a must for a young child. At our new house we do not have a board on the porch or branch of a tree to hang the swing from, so I like the idea that it is attached to the castle set with a slide that is also age-appropriate. Both are colorful, low enough to the ground for safety, and is able to be put in the smaller area of the backyard that is going to be a play area for our grandson. (I babysit him at least 4 days a week right now.) Little Tykes makes great products that last a long time, are sturdy, and I know my grandson will enjoy using the castle set when we set it up this spring for him.
Bought this for our one year old grandson when he visits. A little smaller than we thought, but he loves it. Good quality, easy to assemble. Did a lot of shopping and WalMart had the best price by $25.00 and free shipping to store.
Before purchasing this product, I read all of the reviews, ignored them, and still got the swing set anyway for my daughter's 1st birthday. I am very glad I did. It's a wonderful little swingset for her age and size. No, it won't last as long as the box states, at least not the swing part, but I am not expecting it to last forever. I just want it to last for now while she can truly enjoy it. Later, when she's bigger, we'll see about getting something bigger. For now, I wanted something that could be used in our garage, or in a playroom, or easily transported outside. I live in Florida, so being outside in the middle of the summer is not smart or practical. However, she and I will be able to bring this swingset inside and still be able to play. My daughter LOVES the swing and the slide. I know I read some reviews that said the swing didn't swing very far, but how far do you really want a baby to be swinging? I would rather not have her flying out of the thing! My husband and I also figured that if we want to make it last longer, we can attach a different swing later. Overall, this is a great product for its intended purpose. You really can't expect it to be something its not. By the way, my older nieces and nephews also enjoyed it when they came for my daughter's birthday party, and they are anywhere from 18 months to 9!
The Swing wasn't what i thought it would be , My 2 year old hates it cuz it don't swing very much it barley swings cuz the bar on top stops it . The slide on the other hand he loves and plays on it for hrs. Had i known what i know now i would have saved the money and just bought slide.
It looked like a great playset online & looked great after my husband set it up. The problem is that the swing only swings back & forth about 6 inches. Instead of a heavy duty rope to support the swing it is supported by metal rods. Its much too stiff to swing well. If I would have known this I would have bought a different playset for my lil boy.
I was so excited and waited almost 2 weeks for this to be delivered to the store for me to pick up. I get it home and a piece is missing. I had to return it...so sad.
