Purchased this to use for college mainly because it is so light weight and easily fits in my back pack. I love the Surface, it is so easy to use, great product for the price.
works great. easy to use. Windows 8 rt. is something else.(Don't like that you have to set up an account with credit card or PayPal just to download free apps. Don't like that Microsoft changes the user on your device to whatever you use as log in to the Microsoft store. good thing you can always change it back to whatever you used to set it up. I know that it is set up to keep your devices in sync but I don't do that with my devices. I like to keep them independent.) I also would like a better media player. I will just have to keep looking.
This is a Microsoft Masterpiece. Recommend this to anyone who appreciates function and economy. For those who do not know the difference between a tool and a toy, maybe something else will work better for you, something that starts with "i" perhaps. I use it daily for every task for which a portable computer was designed. It performs flawlessly. There a more than sufficient apps in the "store" since none of them belong on your device in the first place. This unit comes WITH everything you NEED included right out of the box. And please, stay off my lawn?
the only draw back is the charger connection, very difficult to attach. Has beautiful color, haven't tried the camera yet.
This tablet works very well for me. I use it with a Bluetooth keyboard and a mouse connected to the USB port. The tablet came preloaded with Microsoft office products which I found particularly helpful. This tablet is great for school and business but I wouldn't necessarily get it for fun. The windows app store is extremely limited as of right now so don't get this tablet if you want some of the more popular apps.
When I purchased the MS-Surface I was not aware of the character of the RT operating system. I thought I would be able to use my desktop software and communicate like my other Win 8.1on my home network. All in all I think the RT operating system was a mistake for it's many shortcomings. After realizing what I actually had I began using it for what it is. I am very satisfied with it's performance and for what it is intended to do. Although I wish I had investigated more and waited for a Surface model that has the Windows Professional operating system. By the way I am a Microsoft Junkie. I wrote this review hoping that it may keep someone from making the same mistakes I did.
For a tablet this is great. I was needing a mini computer in tablet form and got disappointed, but this tablet is good for windows and watching movies and videos. I was wanting it for my iTunes and to download my fitness software. Great clarity and sound.
I order this online and its a reasonable price.Shipping is like lighting fast although its free and regular.I am so excited to play with it and try to get use to and boy oh boy..First,the letters are way too small for a finger to touch and i need to make it the screen bigger just to press a single word.You need to press the keyboard icon to search and it wont remove unless you do it.Theres so many restrictions for Apps.I love itunes and you cant download it bcoz the system is Windows RT and i didnt read the features of this thing that much.I have a small hands and holding this in few minutes make my wrist hurt so bad.You need to buy good case for this to hold on to otherwise you will have a hard time.The internet is too slow maybe due to a lot of software activities going on.touch and move is way too sensitive.So i realize in just one day that this is not for me.Ipad is heavy too but not as heavy as this and easy to manage.so if you want to get this you may want to check other ppl reviews like youtube regarding this.Goodluck!
Always been a PC guy but won an iPad in work. After recent hospitalizations, I wanted to get a tablet for my wife for games and tv, there being a charge for TV at the hospital. It was between this and an iPad mini at same price. I chose wrong. The Microsoft App Store is a pain and does not have the variety nor quality, and asks for credit card information when downloading free apps. As I do not trust IE, my next project is to attempt to download Firefox. On the other hand, the screen is bigger than the iPad and iPad mini. I guess if you want an apple you should not buy an orange.
Maybe the updated version is a better performer. This machine was sloooow and unresponsive at times. I never downloaded any programs and yet I kept getting messages that the memory was low. also it would not allow me to download free apps...... like facebook for example, told me I didn't have the right version to download. I returned this yesterday and got my money back.
