A battery pack can't be left alone. It's fun playing and recharging at the same time. During a recharge it fells like you are using a wired controller.
i would like to say that this best thing i bought for my xbox, "you can't beat it" no more buying batteries, just wanted everybody to know you don't have to have youre xbox on to charge it and you can charge it in anythng with a usb port (computer, ipod charger, ect.) i plug it in right next to my lazyboy and use my ipod charger all the way across the room from my xbox.
The wireless X360 controller is the biggest battery grubber I've ever owned, so having a rechargeable pack is a life saver. As much as I play, having a corded controller is a real drag as well. This kit allows you to charge on your 360 or computer for as long as you need when not playing, or even charge (slowly) while playing. The battery pack doesn't overheat like regular rechargeable batteries either, so it can be safely hooked up and left while you do other things. Very useful for hardcore gamers, or just people that don't want to spend $100000000 on batteries every month.
perffect the only flaw i have seen people say is that if you want to charge overnight you must leave on your xbox. BUT wait it is usb. so you can plug it into your pc or if you have a ipod or i phone you can plug into your house charger! i love my play and charge kit
I bought this for my boyfriend, and he loves it. It does just what it says, and allows him to charge his control while playing or even when not playing. The only downfall he says it has is that if you want it to charge overnight you have to leave your xbox on.
The other guy is right, this product does what it's supposed to do, and does it well. I have owned for over two years, and have rechargable batteries in all three of my controllers. I usually use my pc or my zune AC adapter to charge. Typical charge times are around 3 or so hours, even with 2 year old batteries. If you turn your xbox off while this is plugged in, it will remain in a low power state to charge to controller, for a while anyway. I would also say theres no way you get 30 hours of play per charge, maybe somewhat close to that when the batteries are brand new, but i would ballpark somewhere between 15-20 tops, which is PLENTY.

PLAY AND CHARGE KIT, IS GREAT THINKING, SAVES ON BUYING BATTERIES, AND HOLDS A PRETTY GOOD CHARGE TOO.
This is a great product! Simple, yet effective. My one complaint is in the wire itself. After about 9 months, my wire stopped charging. It wasn't the battery or the controller though, I tested it with other chargers. The wire just seems to wear out after extened periods of use. I haven't come across any more with such a short life-span, it could have been just a one-time thing. Other than that, a very good buy for those who want to save some dough on batteries!
Over all i have had this product before and i do like it... it dose charge slow but thats because its charging and providing power to your controller at the same time. Since this kit comes with a battery pack and is only $4 more than the battery alone i think the price is well worth it. Mine did happen to be defective, so i did have to take it back, but i have used this before and it worked fine. Just got one of the bad ones
