We recently bought 11 micro mobiles and 4 GXT1000 radios to better improve instant communications on the farm. So far 2 weeks into the switch we are extremely please and satisfied. We have them in all the tractors and combines as well as the semis. Range is better than we were experiencing with our CB's and seems to be more reliable. We have 4 mxt115's and 4 mxt275's as well as 3 mxt400. Doing. It over I would have went with 8 mxt275's for the equipment due to better versatility. I plan on doing a full YouTube review in the near future. Thanks for an awesome product.
Great radio, works great. Much better range than a handheld. I bought this because Jeep Jamboree is moving to the FRS/GMRS format. I wanted something that could be mounted under my dash out of sight and this was the perfect radio. My neighbor fabricated a bracket and it fit perfectly behind the glove box. The antenna is small and easily concealed behind the tire carrier. Not the best placement for range, but good enough for what I need. Very happy.
Installed it in a 2006 Jeep TJ Rubicon and anybody familiar with these know how difficult it is to find space to install anything. I mounted it behind the panel under the steering column. Used a 3' extension with a flush plug installed in center console that makes it extremely easy to remove the head unit say when times I go topples and doors off. I did use the “JK” windshield antenna mount after some reworking as seen in the pictures. Great radio and if I had a wishlist it would be to re drill the mounting holes in the antenna mount to fit a TJ, offer the 3' extension w/plug and maybe offer some more dashboard mike holders (made mine out of a old cell phone holder) thanks for a great Radio...Joe
This is my second one .. love the radio .. we run them in our side by side.. clear and loud .. very durable… these radio has been through mud and rain .. still going .. I highly recommend this to all friends
This is an excellent upgrade from my cobra CB radio. Installed in my 2010 Jeep JK Rubicon. Installed in the little storage space plate right below the locker buttons. And Midland customer service was over the top and helping me with any questions I had. Chose 6db antenna too. Thanks Midland!
I've wanted the MXT275 for a while and for my birthday the wife surprised me with it! I installed it into my Jeep for a hard wired, high powered radio while out camping and off roading. I also have some Midland handhelds that are great but I like knowing I've got more power and options on the big radio. I love it so much I bought a second one for my tiny camper trailer. Now, while I'm roaming around in the Jeep away from the camp site, we can still get ahold of each other. I was a comms guy in the Army. I guess some things never change.
I've been watching and waiting for this particular radio and setup to come out. I liked the setup of my old Cobra CB with all the controls on the mic. This fits the bill 100% and the clarity, distance and reliability of GMRS/FRS makes this such a no-brainer. I'm getting all my offroad/camping buddies to get this unit.
We upgraded to the MXT275 last month. We have been using our Midland FRS/GMRS handhelds for 2 years between vehicles. However, over the horizon communication was not always possible, and keeping track of a handheld while offroad is not always easy. The MXT275 has increased our range and reception beyond our expectations! The setup on our dash and ease of use of the radio makes this a perfect upgrade. I can highly recommend this setup to anyone!
Originally had a MXT115 in my LR3, anxiously awaiting the arrival of the 275. With the small form factor and easy connections, install was a breeze and the radio is working flawlessly. Midland has really done will with the micromobile series and the handset functionality of this unit makes it my favorite in the family.
Purchased, installed, communicated on the weekly GMRS net. Coupled with the MXTA26 6db antenna, am able to hit the GMRS repeaters from 30+miles no problem. Wish it had the ability for split tones or even programming within the GMRS frequency range to set up multiple repeaters. Will keep it in my truck for now, might go with a Kenwood down the road.
