When making my various foil crafts, I initially started with a generic laminator, but definitely getting a machine created specifically for foil application gives dramatically better results. I wish I knew about the Minc Foil Applicator much earlier! A regular laminator is sort of like a gamble. Sometimes you get a perfect application, sometimes it ends up wrinkled or off center. Each time I applied foil, I would give a little prayer to the craft gods that it would be okay. Especially when you want to make duplicates for weddings or what-nots, it was definitely more tedious ensuring everything was uniform and identical. The Minc applicator on the hand, did not let me down. My cards came out seamlessly every single time. No need for wasted foil or paper or card stock. I'm keeping a 100% success rate so far. Even if it drops to 99, I'm sure in comparison with a regular laminator it would pale in comparison. Thank you Heidi Swapp for making this machine. This is a great machine if you need to create wedding decor, cards, and paper crafting with some extra embellishments. It heats the foil very evenly and applications are quick: you can probably foil-ize 10-20 cards in less than 6-7 minutes. It's a great machine! Though, for those who live in smaller spaces: I would recommend investing in this if you are planning to make a ton of foiled paper crafts--if you are planning to only use it once every few months, I would recommend just going to traditional laminator/iron route--it may not apply as easily though. Really fun and useful machine for all my decorating and accessorizing needs--really a game-changer for me. I have added foil to cards, postcards, gift labels, and mini card-stock cards--really adds some flair to my card materials and invitations. I can't wait for Christmas to add some metallic and gold embellishments to my cards!

It's a well built machine--note that it does get pretty hot so if you have children or pets, I would be careful when the Minc is turned on. It only takes around a minute for the machine to heat up and become ready to use--very fast application, and works like a laminator with a rolling wheel to push the paper/foil from one side to the other. The kit comes with gold and silver foil rolls and you could purchase more if you're planning to make a lot of projects in bulk (like invitations, cards, etc.). Highly recommend for card crafters and DIY-ers! Please note that I received this item for free for my unbiased review.
I am primarily using this for card-stock postcards that I am making to send to friends and families, and it works really well! It comes with foil, but I would suggest also buying additional foil colors if you want to do things other than silver and gold. There are Youtube videos online that can give you multiple ideas about how to apply the foil (polka dots, stripes, flower embellishments, lettering, and more!). I've seen this cool video how you can make unique wrapping paper as well using this foil machine.
This does a beautiful job of adding foil to invitations. Just make sure anything that you've printed out is from a laser printer, if not the foil won't stick.
Very nice to use with the minc foil, nice and crisp, fast also.
This is such A CUTE KIT! As someone who usually makes my own cards, I have to say that this Minc Foil Applicator really made my hand-made cards stand out. It was so easy and fun to use. I have to say it is on the expensive side and is worth it if you know you will be using it frequently. Also, with the starter kits you have to use the designs that they give you. You have to buy additional products to be able to create your own designs
I used this once for foiling transparency for resin insert's and it was awesome, so much better than amazing basics laminator. Then, it never worked again. I bought it in January, it's mid March, I used it once, now it won't even turn on, and it's past return window. Total BS.
