I absolutely love this tank. it is a lot bigger than what I thought it would be. The only thing that I wish it had come with was an oxygen source. Other than that it is a great tank.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TO ANY ONE WHO WANTS A NICE AND AFFORDABLE FISH TANK. I BOUGHT THIS AND I FELL IN LOVE WITH IT THE FIRST TIME I SEEN IT. GREAT PRODUCT GETS THE TANK CLEAN TOO.
This is a good aquarium for beginners and nice one to keep at office. Filter is silent although quite big. Can accommodate upto 4 glofish or any other fish than grow upto 2.5 inches. Filter can be replaced with smaller sized filter when fish grows bigger.
I love this fishtank, I bought it for my 11 year old goldfish, he was in need of a little home makeover! But it would also be a great starter tank, it has almost everything included like it says besides gravel & fish! I haven't had any problems with it at all! I love the color and it's a great price! Very attractive tank! The only complaint I have is that it is listed as online only, but it was avaliable in store as well so I could have saved on shipping. Also I don't think that many fish would be happy in the tank, like in the picture! I think 2 or maybe 3 little ones would be sufficient. But overall I am happy with my purchase!
This tank was excellent!!! My only problem with it is that they sent the wrong color. I ordered an aqua tank and received a purplish blue one. My fish needed a new home so I didn't send it back. The tank itself is great. The filter is very quiet and does a good job. Definitely worth the price.
Overall, I am pleased with the 2.5 gallon Minibow. It provides a much better environment for my Betta fish than a tiny bowl with no filtration. However, the filter that came with the minibow was simply too strong for my fish. The current from the filter would push him to the bottom of the tank, and he was constantly struggling against the intake current, even after I set it to the lowest setting. I ultimately purchased a smaller Whisper filter designed for 1-3 gallon tanks, it is a much more appropriate size for this tank and has solved the problem with the current. The new filter also takes up significantly less room in the tank. Although WalMart.com says this product is only available online, I found both the 2.5 and 5 gallon tanks in my local store.
Children wanted a pet and this works out great. The aquarium came with everything, but pebbles for the bottom; so they got to add their own little touch to it. The filter is very quiet and the 2 gallon tank is just the right size for the family of 4. The top cover sits securely on it; so no little fingers can take it off and it has a small door to open to feed them that even a small hand can not enter. I like it and so do the 5 & 2 year olds that I bought it for.
Its a great product. But, I have had it for about 2 weeks now and the water in the tank keeps getting cloudy. I know i don't over feed my fish, so it shouldn't be the food. And I'm positive the filter is working properly. I really don't know why the water just won't turn clear. Not only that, but when I received the fish tank I noticed scratches on the tank, although they were not huge, I still was a bit disappointed. Overall though, my fish are happy so thats all that matters. And they just had babies! :)
I think this is a very nice aquarium for kids, or if you only have a few fish, or perhaps a beta. The only issue is that when you put the filter inside the tank, it takes up 1/4 of the tank, because of the filter itself, and the water flow output. I substituted an outside filter, an Aqua-Tech 5-15 power filter, which keeps the tank super clean, and doesn't take up any space, and it also fits within the opening that is available with the hood. It is an inexpensive addition to the tank.
We have purchased these tanks for our children's rooms mainly as nightlights. They do work well for the fish too! We have two "cheapy" goldfish together in one that have grown to 2+ inches long. This is the third of these tanks I have purchased. We just replaced one because of hard water deposits on the tank cover and the light stopped working after about 5 years. As long as the fish are not over-fed, the water never has to be changed or the tank cleaned. Algae treatment does have to be applied and the filter needs changed every 3-4 months.
