I bought the "Rose Bisque" version of this product 20 years ago when I needed an unconventional colour of stain for a project for a young girl, my grand-daughter. It was my first Minwax product purchase and it worked so well I bought several other Minwax products over the years since then. I've never been disappointed.
I wanted to spruce up some window sills and trim. This product worked beyond my expectations.
I used this product to refresh a king bedroom set. I had purchased this set 30 years prior to applying the WoodSheen. It totally made the oak shine like new. It is truly a remarkable product.
Use on my kitchen cabinets and they always look like new after using every couple years.
I have used several colors of WoodSheen for seven years now, and ALWAYS gotten good results. It's particularly easy to use-- just wipe on any clean smooth wood surface. It dries very fast and you can re-coat within an hour or less depending on humidity and temperature. Clean-up is a breeze! No VOCs or unpleasant odors. I've used it on chairs, railings and small woodworking projects with no problems. Even abject beginners can get nice results fast and easy with this finish. ...Oh yeah.. I almost forgot! If you squeeze excess air from the bottle before storage, it has a very long shelf-life too.
I prefer the original oil based product. This water based formulated product applies unevenly. I used the original to stain red oak wainscoting — it was absolutely beautiful. Please bring back the original formula!
The wood sheen that was oil based was a far superior product to the Water base version. Why change a good product?
