This stuff dries quick and a clean soft finish
It has been a few decades since I've refinished a hardwood floor so the products I used before are now obsolete. I decided on this product after reading the label and a few reviews. The hardwood floor I refinished is 72 years old, dark brown and looked bad. I bought a 4" belt sander for the main area and a mouse detail sander for the edges and corners. It took a few hours to get it properly sanded and then I followed the instructions on the can. I used a 3" brush and gave it 3 coats with light sanding after the 1st %26 2nd coat using the detail sander and 220 sandpaper. I vacuumed the dust after the light sanding and gave it a few minutes to dry after following the vacuum with a damp cloth. The product is easy to apply and it only took a few minutes with the brush to apply each coat to the small bedroom. My wife and I decided not to use stain so the floor is natural. I am very happy with the outcome.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This brings out the new look to anything you stain. I am in love with this product and will be using it again on all my wood care. It brings out a great shiny look and leaves your woodwork looking shiny. It's easy to apply and doesn't drip or leave any harsh smell.
Loved how easy it spreads! Had three coats out of this gallon. Singed a room floor that was 12x12. Still have a small amount to paint a smaller room!
Works like it's supposed to
First I want to say that as a professional wood flooring refinish contractor myself, I personally "Love this product!" . It is durable, easy to use, self leveling, and cost effective. It allows me to do all my coats (3) , in 1 day. this makes me money. This product is also great for it's low odor. Customers are overjoyed that there are no heavy fumes like a traditional polyurethane
I used this as a clear coat over my latex painted doors to protect the paint. The poly went on smoothly and gave a nice finish to the doors. I used 2 coats and sanded between coats to promote a better bond. I can now wipe off the grandkids fingerprints and not have to worry about the paint being affected by the cleaning solutions. Working great so far.
I had to sand between every coat on a large super smooth walnut slab. It dried with so many brush marks left that I had to resend with 400 grit to get it flat again. I tried a temp of 60° and 70° with the same results. Never had that problem with regular water based Minwax poly.
So much for it being CLEAR! I have used this in the past on a dark would desk top, and it was fine. Just added it to a White desk I just re-finished for my daughters birthday, and YELLOW! Works fine on dark surfaces, but would NOT recommend for anything light. It is NOT CLEAR... it has a yellow/brown-ish tint, and it does dry that way. Super disappointed.
Great for small projects but not great for table tops. Was working on 36"x80" walnut desk table top and it was easy to apply but did not evenly add that expected oil polyurethane finish look. Some places where darker surrounded by a white fuzzy area across the tabletop after 3 coats. Thought it could be trapped moisture so I sanded it down and tried a again and it still had the same issue. Uses synthetic brush the first time and a foam brush the second with sanding of 220 sandpaper in between.minmax needs to make video showing how they would apply this product to a large product to prevent overlapping and other issues.
