I love this product. Plants do well and it is easy to use. I have used other forms of miracle grow on garden plants and flowers so am a fan in general. Just squirt and water as usual for lovely green plants indoors. I am just about to buy my second bottle…definitely a fan. I highly reccomend. I use either weekly or biweekly.
Potting mix is the best I've used. Airy and drains well. Love the plant food as well. I used it once a week during watering. Plants grow fast and new leaves are waxy/shiny looking. Definitely recommend both. I find that adding the plant food into the watering can works better than directly squirting it on the soil.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm notorious for potting in my house; anywhere in my house. This bag is small enough and the potting mix soft and easy to handle. I wasn't sure because I don't have many house plants now. I used this to pot the propagating red maple trees, and the micro tomatoes that I started in Aerogarden. One great benefit is that the mix is labeled to feed up to 6 months. This mix contains less of the materials (compost/bark) that breed fungus gnats. I despise fungus gnats. My pictures tell the story
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a perfect product for indoor gardeners who don't like to store large bags of fertilizers or use messy powdered fertilizer mixes... What could be easier than pumping nutrients directly into the plant's soil? Unlike other fertilizers, since this one has an ingredient ratio of 1-1-1, the roots of indoor plant won't be burned by a heavy dosage. And while this product may not be the most economical way to feed a large indoor plant collection regularly, this product does have its place for someone with just a few plants to care for. Quick, Easy and very convenient.
When we bought this soil we thought we were getting a nice big heavy bag of potting soil, but mostly what we got was a big rock.
I have nothing but house plants so I only purchase miracle grow indoor formula as I have for years. But this last batch is really disappointing, I needed to top off and repot some plants. It looks and works totally different from past result's. In the past the soil was rich a little heavier and darker in color almost black in color, like miracle grow potting soil I purchased in the past. I'm not sure if this was reformulated but this last bag I purchased is awful . It's more of a brown hue, dried out dust, it reminds me of shredded coconut exterior, very strange mix , I've had a mix similar to this when I had tropical plants that needed well draining soil, but I no longer need that type of soil because my other plants like moist soil, this house plant formula no longer works for my plants as it gets dried out within a day or so. Unfortunately the plants that I reported died. Never had that happen with miracle grow indoor formula, never purchasing indoor formula again.
I got Miracle-Gro to repot a large plant that was getting too big for her previous pot. For the first couple weeks she seemed to be doing well (and even getting greener!). Unfortunately, after about a month in, the new soil started to grow fungus and the fungus spread throughout the soil! I was only watering the plant every 4-5 days with moderate amount of water (the same I was doing with previous soil). The mold anf fungus has taken over the soil.. I am now seeing that other reviews are also noting that this soil holds too much moisture and grows fungus. Wish I had seen them before purchasing this product. Although it seemed to be working well for the plant at first, it has caused me more trouble in the long run, because now I have to deal with getting rid of fungus and repotting with new soil. I definitely do not recommend Miracle-Gro.
The problem with this item is that the solution stays wet longer than your average soil . Causes root rot .I personally say that caution should be taken in using this item alone an amendment should be added
We used the indoor potting soil mix and within days we were infested with gnats all over the house and we traced them to the indoor pots of plants we just transplanted to bigger pots. We've had these plants in the house all this time, they have just outgrown their old pots. We never had gnats before! If we could give zero stars we would! We're still fighting the gnats! We trapped them with sticky tape and the tapes were filled instantly! Disgusted and disappointed!
I've tried several different types of Miracle Gro potting mix, including this one. Regardless of how seldom I water my plants, the soil holds moisture to the point that mold forms and I get fungus gnats. I use filtered water and still no difference. I keep repotting my beautiful plant babies, only to experience the same thing. I've used insecticide soap and Bonide on the plants and soil consistently. Repotting hasn't helped. I wonder if the fungus gnats are in the soil.
