My 11 year old purchased this item AND he loves playing this instrument! It has been a very rewarding purchase for him.
This flute is perfect for my 4th grader learning to play. It was much cheaper than paying $25/month to rent for an indefinite period of time.
Although these flutes look like the real thing they are not constructed to withstand repeated use over time. The metal is thin and bends easily & as far as repairing these flutes, well they cost more to fix because of the metal fatigue/poor construction. You get what you pay for. The resale value of these Chinese made flutes is low. Long term it is better to aim for an American made flute: Gemeinhardt, Conn-Selmer, Armstrong (a few examples of sturdy makes of flutes that last 30+ years with ease.)
