Brings new life to my very old floor
a product that was very popular in the past. I have a linoleum tile floor that I just couldn't keep clean. I cleaned it with cleaner and then used mop and goo to seal it. Worked beautifully. Now all I need is a light mopping and my floor is clean! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I have a very old linoleum floor. After 3 weeks it's shining like almost new. I really didn't think we'd get a good result, but it seems to build up every time it's used. Also it isn't slippery. I'm 80 have to be careful about things like that.
It made the floor look better. i was thankful for that. However, it seemed more watery.
I was lured into using Mop & Glo when I realized that the wood floors in my kitchen were really starting to show their age. It does leave a nice shiny layer, and for awhile I was very happy to be able to shine up my tired floors with a quick mop. Then I noticed strange wear-patterns on my kitchen floor--- we had bright oak floor TRAILS to the sink, ovens, microwave, etc, and everywhere else there was a deep murky grey covering every inch. I have just spent the better part of a week scraping of old Mop & Glo, (using rubbing alcohol to soak it first...be very careful with the fumes, but it does do a great job!) I am now back to my old tired floors, but they are clean and wax-free, no more trails....I'm just going to embrace their patina! I will NEVER use this product again!
After using it weekly for about a year I discovered that there was a lot of wax build-up and the floors looked awful. The bottle has a method for cleaning build-up but it doesn't work. The only thing I found that would get it off was straight ammonia and elbow-grease - warning, straight ammonia is VERY bad. I finally discovered the way to do it was to open the windows, hold my breath and flood the floor with straight ammonia then run out and shut the door. After about 15-20 min. the ammonia fumes were gone and I could scrub. The old wax came off in sludgy messes. Took hours to get the floors back to where they were before Mop & Glo.
