Holds a good amount of seed, and the birds seem to like it. Everything from finches to woodpeckers uses it. Great fun to watch. Quality puece so many years to come.
This feeder makes the birds work a bit harder to get the food instead of throwing it out on the ground which wastes more food.
I love this feeder! I feel it's a must have for the backyard bird enthusiast. I have owned other tube feeders but none quite like this, it seriously does attract an abundance of birds. Easy to fill, cap comes up easily but is secured to the unit hanger (slides up & down, snaps in place). Tube has ample space which I find extremely convenient as it means less trips to refill. Lightweight, but sturdy and strong, makes it easier to hang. I used paracord to hang, it can take weight and a beating in pretty much any weather. The six perches are conveniently placed for birds to perch comfortably while picking at the seed. I find less seed loss with this particular port setup. Also, this is the first time in all my years of setting feeders out that I have gotten birds on all perches at once. Tis a sight to be seen. Birds that have visited thus far: Cardinals, an occasional Blue Jay (I don't think they can get much out of the port which is fine by me because they can easily clean out a feeder in a jiffy), Goldfinch, White-breasted Nuthatch (so awesome to see her tipped upside down and feeding), House Finch, Common Redpoll, Purple Finch, Chickadees, Tufted Titmouse and Downy Woodpecker. My yard is booming with tweeting, tittering and beautiful bird song. This will stay up and filled all Winter long (TIP: birds use a great amount of energy searching for food, it's a must once established through the cold months to keep the feeders stocked). I definitely recommend and will be purchasing an additional one.
I was looking for the least expensive to see if any birds would feed off my new deck. This has been so exciting for my husband and I both as we finally after 5 months have an abundance of beautiful birds mostly Cardinals feeding regularly. Patience paid off
Very good hanging feeders. Of course mine are out in all sorts of weather, heat and cold, wind and rain, snow and such, so after a few years they begin to get weather worn. But the birds love them. they are well made, easy to see when they need filling. The only thing I would like to see changed is that the very bottom insert made easier to remove for easier cleaning.
grandson wanted a multiple bird feeder . We found this on line. Price and quality seemed what we wanted. Pick up seemed the best way . no delivery charges. Store close by. Had never done this before. The curb side was great. Female employee answered quickly was very nice and brought it out so fast. The weight of the feeder was surprising. Quality really great. Knew he would love it. Whole purchase went so well and so easy. will surely use this in the future.
For mostly small birds are able to use it.
The birds are doing fine with it. I was amazed that they were able to empty it. My problem is cleaning it well. I prefer to rinse it clear of seed powder with hot water, sanitize, then rinse well again, and dry. That's difficult with it only opening at the top and being so tall.
well I've only had the feeder hanging up for a couple days but so far I'm very happy with it. The tube is indeed large and holds quite a bit of birdseed which is nice also there are six purchases for maximum little hungry birds... The plastic clear tubing isn't as thick as I would have liked but hopefully it will hold up over the years... for the price I feel like it's an excellent purchase. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is that I've only had the item for about 4 days
I have probably about 15 different kinds of birds that come around. Squirrels took care of my fast feeders so replaced with these. None of the birds will touch them. I have them out for two weeks now, in the same spot my previous feeders were and not one seed is gone.
