MorningStar Farms Spicy Black Bean Veggie Burgers, 9.5 oz (Frozen) I had purchased these a while back and liked them. I decided to get some more and I still like them. They heat nicely, just be sure if you are putting them in the microwave do not leave in too long because will become hard, They have a mild spicy taste which I like and make wonderful cheese burgers too.
Imagine someone condensed a bowl of canned chili into a puck and froze it. Thats what it taste like. And I mean that in a good way. Would buy again. Very good.
These have definite Tex-Mex flavor: they're like vegetarian taco meat. I ate this as a burger with some cheese and tomato, but I could also see these being really good crumbled up and eaten in a taco or burrito. They did require about ten minutes in the air fryer to get crisp on the outside, so it's important to make sure to cook them long enough to get that nice crisp exterior. Love these and will definitely be buying the larger package in the future.
Delicious option to a fatty burger. I made mine in an air fryer. I cooked it on 370° F for about 16 minutes, flipping it over halfway through. The edges crisped up nicely %26 the rest of the patty cooked through. I topped mine with some guacamole %26 it's perfection. Made sweet potato fries on the side. Will definitely be buying again! 🍔🍟
First can I just say, please stop writing complaints about your walmart orders or about deliveries. This section is to review the quality of the items and give honest opinions to help out people who dont know if they should buy a specific product. With that being said....I normally dont write reviews and i normally don't eat healthy but I'm trying to eat healthier and wanted to try something other than meat and this hit thr nail. it was surprisingly good and had a nice little kick to it, not too spicy. I'm actually going to keep eating these.
Although the burgers were very tasty the nutritional information is not correct. They actually have 320mg of salt per patty. They need to update the website.
Normally good, but what's been up with quality control in so many food brands lately? I was almost at the end of my burger and had trouble chewing, so I spit out my bite. It looks like I was chewing on some sort of waxy paper? And this isn't user error. There was no paper in the plastic bag holding these patties.
I purchased these burgers at my elderly mother's request. I am the daughter. It was the first time she tried them. She uses my email. This is her review: These black bean burgers should NOT be called “black bean!” They should be called “rice burgers” with a few beans in them. These burgers are extremely MUSHY in my plate after pan frying. The taste was just “Okay” it could definitely use some improvement there too. In addition, the protein per serving is WAY too low at only 9G! While you're improving the quality, add more soy or egg proteins please. I won't buy them again. Thank you for reading.
Maybe I slept through that part in school where the said Egg was a vegetable. I ate these, then happened to catch it on the back. Egg Whites? Think it's pretty misleading calling it “Veggie Burger.” Veggie and Egg White Burger? You could have used ground flax seed as a binder. It's an exact match as a binding agent, that doesn't change the taste or texture. IMO price doesn't fluctuate, so your food cost would be easier to project since it doesn't rise and fall. You got lazy and phoned this one in.
These are way too spicy. They gave me a headache. If you like extra spicy food then these are great for you.
