Great with AT&T!

I am using this phone with AT&T. So far it is excellent! The call quality is fantastic. I have not tried it in a rural area, but in a city of 500,000+ it is crystal clear. It is very solid and durable. It feels like it will last a long time. Since this is not a phone that AT&T has ever carried there will be an issue connecting to the internet and sending multimedia texts (every phone not carried by AT&T will have this problem) but with a quick call to them (it took me about 5 min), they can send you an download to install through a text message. They couldn't find ROKR model EM30, so tell them to look up ROKR E8, it is basically the same phone, and the install message they send will work on the EM30. It was easy as pie. Not sure if T-Mobile has the same problem, but if they do maybe this will work for them as well.

This phone is awesome. The price was great and it works perfect. I was hesitant at first to purchase it reading a few of the reviews but I am so glad that I did! Everything works great and I love the feature that can read your text messages to you aloud if you choose. If you are thinking about purchasing this phone I would totally encourage you to since I have t-mobile all I did was place my card into the slot and it worked fine.

The phone is great. The only problem I found was that there was no enclosed instructions or trouble shooting guides. I have AT & T - and the SIMS card fit fine-but I have not been able to take pics yet with it. I'm trying to figure what to do about that. Motorola website- I guess. Bought ear phones and the music plays great. I would recommend buying this product.

Great 2 in 1 device

Great phone, crystal clear in most major areas. You get the typical cell phone connection issues just like any other cell phone however the Crystal talk technology does seem to provide clearer phone conversations. You will want to buy another battery (BK60, SNN5795A only avail from Motorola right now) and get an external charger. It is a strong battery, 930mah, however with a dual purpose device, phone/music, you will find that the battery will only get you through 3-4 days tops. Get the Motorola charger that has the "pocket" on both sides for different batteries. You will also want to get a data cable and at least a 2gb micro sd card, most will need a 4gb or 8gb micro sd card for music and pictures. You will have to buy a 3.5mm stereo headphones with a mic to be able to use the FM radio. You can play your loaded music via the speaker however the phone MUST have the hardline headphones to pickup FM stations. You get dual function out of them however - able to answer the phone while listening to your tunes or the radio. The phone will go back to playing music on it's own whether is was playing the radio or your loaded content. Why it doesn't come with one is beyond me - Hopefully Walmart reads this and updates the product description to note that you must purchase them separately! It's a great phone overall for the price however you need to be aware that you will need to spend some more dollars for it to function as it was intended with or without the extra battery.

Does everything. I'm only using it for music and to make phone calls. mp3 player is excellent. sound is great through ear buds. external speaker ok but not as good. phone call quality is great. menus and settings are intuitive. You do however have to dig into all the sub-menus to find all the features. Keep photos and music downloads organized so as not to scatter files wherever transfer softwear wants to place it. bluetooth has seen and paired with every device i've throne at it. battery life is so so, only because it is contsantly in use. Once I can just leave it alone, Im sure the battery will last a lot longer. if you need to change voicemail speed dial number from a previous carrier or from a mistake on entry: go to menu-messages-options-settings-voicemail-number- enter new number. I would also get the micro-sd card for expanded music/media files. I use a 2 gig card and have over 200 mp3 songs downloaded. I'll never run out of music along with the fm radio. Hpoe all this helps.

Not what I expected

I'm not real thrilled with the design of this phone. The USB charging jack is not the standard mini USB that Motorola normally uses so none of my other USB Motorola chargers will work with this phone. Also, the number pad is backlit, when the thing goes into powersave the numbers dissappear and when the numbers are lit they are almost impossible to see in daylight. On the positive side the graphics display is crisp and clear and the FM radio is a positive.
