Very handy to have around the home, shopping, camping, or on a cruise ship to stay in touch with your family and friends. Also has a weather radio feature to keep abreast of any impending storms. Rechargable batteries or in case of power failure, you can put in AAA batteries. Great distance for talking, ease of operation, and low cost. Many features make it very versatile.
Bought these for my son for Christmas. He absolutely loves them!!! We use them at the house or when we're out camping.
I and a friend of mine bought 2 pair for our paintball team. They had horrible reception AND distance. We returmed both sets. I wish I would have listened to the prev reviews.
I bought 3 sets of these walkie talkies to use as a communication tool for our teachers at a preschool. The teachers each have one in their classroom and also take them with them when they go to the playground. It is almost impossible to understand what is being said. The quality is VERY POOR and I will be returning them to Wal Mart for a refund.
Bought 6 of these to rep-lace older FV500's that were showing their age. We use them in a 150,000 sq ft building. Never had a problem understanding voices on the old ones but these new ones cut out and the voices sound like a bad fast food drive thru speaker. Really not worth the money.
My buddy and I both bought sets of these radios for our paintball team. Needless to say, they underperformed. You could not understand anything that was transmitted over them. Everything was muffled. It needs to be noted that we use earbuds and throat mics. So if you were going to be using these in this manner, don't. I will be returning these for a refund.
