Really nice two-way radios. The NOAA weather stations are a very important feature since we live in an area where our power always goes out during the storms. Another great feature is the option to use rechargeable batteries or regular batteries. The only thing I don't like about these is how they charge. They use a cord plug in, I would prefer a charging stand for a more clean look and easy grab.
My 6 year old wanted a set of radios for her and her grandparents (who live next door) to be able to talk back and forth. This three pack allows me to be in their secret club too! Our houses aren't that far apart, but we get really great service coverage between the two. My child thinks this is the best thing ever! Motorola has always been a trusted brand for me, so we don't have any issues with the product. Battery life is pretty good too! Definitely cheaper than a phone to call grandparents that is for sure!
Exellent product, good quality
The 'Motorola Solutions T270TP Two-Way Radio Black W/Blue Three-Pack' is great fun. My family and I have been having a ball with these 2-way radios. I am in a wheelchair and live within half a mle from a gas station. We decided to see if we could use these radios all the way to the gas station and inside without interference - it worked like a charm. They were easy to set up. Battery installation was easy. Syncing them all to the same channel worked. I was even able to easily find a local weather station. The fact that they show the battery level is a plus. Awesome being able to plug them in to recharge just like a phone or tablet. They come with 1 single charger and a double charger cord. They come with clips so you don't have to worry about little one's losing it - but can still be used while clipped.
Opening this box gave me nostalgia. Going back to child hood. Innocent fun times. The simplicity of a walkie talkie radio and knowing you had to stay within range for it to work. Nice slick design with a deep blue color. Family fun time friendly.
Paired easily and as long as you follow is tey toons on the device, everything works fine. I was able to find the weather channel easy and works well. After a while of weather channel it goes to regular two way radio. Back clip Hera on well and holds fine. Love the volume setting and the fact that it is rechargeable. It works in panamá as well which is outstanding. Definitely recommend this set!
I'm very glad and relieved to get a set of these. With the current situation in this country, having a back up source for any kind of communication offers a bit of security. These radios are perfect for short distance communication. I had my daughter travel up to the corner of our property just off a busy highway, and we had no trouble hearing each other. It's about 3/4 of a mile away with trees and structures in between, so I was glad to know the reception was reasonable. I've had two-way radios in the past, and their claim to reach miles is usually not going to happen unless you're in an area with -0- interference between points. Regardless, these are actually quite good, comparatively speaking and I'd definitely recommend giving them a try.
They connect with other mortorolas automatically which is nice but it's a lot of static
So when I first ordered these, my original intent was to use them with my boys when we went hiking or for long walks things like that where we might not stay in total contact with each other 100% of the time and I was really looking forward to all three of us being able to communicate. When they came my boys were super excited and could not wait to try them out so I open the box and pull out a big instruction book. I didn't really know what to make of it because I've never had an instruction book come with walkie talkies before but I've never had one where all three of us can talk instead of just two walkie talkies tune into each other sorry I opened and began to read. The first thing it did was start to give me warnings. It said to not transmit more than 50% of the time. I am still unsure what exactly that means but I tried not to monopolize the conversation when we used them. Then it gives you warnings about not holding the antenna when the radio is transmitting and not to use any portable radio that has a damaged antenna because if it comes into contact with your skin a minor burn can result. The next thing is a warning about acoustic safety and then it leads on to say that they can interfere with personal medical devices such as a pacemaker or hearing aid. Not only can the radios interfere but the holsters can interfere with these devices as well. Then it got even scarier and said that use of a radio is not intrinsically safe in a potentially explosive atmosphere and could result in serious injury or death. To avoid possible interference with blasting operations turn your radio off when you are near electrical blasting caps. Wow these are some scary things to read before you start using your new toys. Next it gives you instructions on where the buttons are and what they're called and then tells you how to install the batteries and how to read the buttons. How to use the micro USB charger and also how do I attach or remove the belt clip. Now we get to do the fun stuff which is actually use the radio itself. All radios must be set to the same channel and interference Eliminator code. So at this point is when I realize they're not so much toys as more grown-up communication devices. The part about holding the radio at least an inch away from your mouth was kind of hard for my children because they are used to putting their walkie-talkies almost directly onto their lips when talking trying to be slick. After some trial and error we were finally able to take a long walk and use these but I was very clear and all the instructions and the safety features before I let them loose. I am glad we have these but at the same time I am still just a little bit scared of them because of all the safety warnings. Be aware before you buy that these are not really toys.
I wanted to love these 2 way radios but I didn't. The range is just terrible, we tried talking from our yard and could barely get reception. I don't know if it's where I live or what. We took one up the road about a mile and could not hear anything. So buy at your own risk. I can say they are very sturdy , holds charge pretty good.
