this originally came with my Mr coffee maker. tap water had a funny taste to it. using these filters have been a game changer as far as the way my coffee taste. keep the black outer part just by the refills online much cheaper

Didn't think that it mattered but this filter actually changed the taste of my coffee.
This is not meant for the Mr. Coffee 5-Cup Programmable Coffee Maker that Walmart sells. This is only for Mr. Coffee makers that have the water filter friendly symbol on the bottom of the plastic filter basket. Even though I accidentally got this (the instructions on the 5 cup coffee maker was not very clear - i wished they would just print that it cannot use the water filter), I did notice water does not drip through it very well. I don't feel this works well and the filter is way too rigid and thin. You can just use filtered water and save yourself some money.
Could have saved by realizing I already had the frame, not really the products fault but I do wish it had been clearer.
Went to the store to buy the replacement disks on 06/29/18, wasn't in stock so I got this instead. We have this coffee maker for a long time, we were never good at remembering to buy water filter disks and quite honestly didn't worry about it, they always held up well for months, never frail. This one didn't last 18 days and it is destroyed. Looks like a kitty toy. If I had not gone to the store myself, I could swear it was a knock off. Shame on you Mr Coffee!
The item was missing the filter. Only the frame is included in the box. I went to my local Walmart and found that all stocked filters are also missing the filter.
