Great buy. Easy to use. Worth it.
Does this blower have a gale-force wind outflow? No. Does it blow grass clippings and leaves? Quite well, yes! If you're looking for an industrial or commercial unit, this might not be the best choice. But for a standard, normal residential landscape plat, this certainly performs well. If you want your grass clippings & leaves blown from your driveway, sidewalk, & down the street: this one works exceptionally well! The starting of this unit was easy, and on point (since I READ and FOLLOWED the instructions). Its spring-load mechanism assists wonderfully with starting, and (unlike one portion of a review), it did not require an excessive amount of pulls...again, if the instructions are read & followed, start-ups are without complications (if you do not have a mechanically defective unit). There is very little vibration @ max speed, and its light-weight is very comfortable. When I first researched this model, I was more skeptical about the design of the nozzle-end than the power of the unit. But as I mentioned in the opening statement: it works wonderfully well for these types of applications...I've never quite understood how anyone could blow leaves into a pile - I just blow them from the flowerbeds before I mow, and mulch them as I mow (or rake & bag them afterwards). The wide-mouth end of the nozzle disperses debris with a nice, uniformed sweep - good R & D. Even @ max speed, the unit is stable and the noise level is not horrendous - a couple of clicks down throttle, and it purrs while STILL performing effectively. The primer bulb on my 7-year old unit had deteriorated, and while replacing it would've been relatively easy, I wanted a new unit: this one, thus far, is well worth the money! I just purchased this unit 5/22/14, so I have not the foggiest idea what the next usage experiences will be. If anything like this past one with me doing my mowing twice a week (front yard one day, back yard the next), then I'm futuristically satisfied!
I certainly would recommend this product to anyone, it does the work I expected.
I needed a small gas blower and this one fit the bill, both price wise and for performance. It starts fairly easy and does what it is supposed to do. At the lower setting for speed, I can blow leaves off of rubber mulch without the mulch going everywhere. Just and FYI, using it on regular wood mulch would probably be a mess.
WORKS GREAT HAS A LOT OF POWER. TOOK ABOUT SIX PULLS THE FIRST TIME BUT AFTER THAT WAS EASY
This is my first blower. It works. Makes a lot of noise, a kind of heavy and consumes a lot of gasoline.
Great product for the price.
blower does not have enough rpms to do a good cleaning job & it takes way too long to recharge the battery after 10 or 15 min use It would seem that Black & Decker would try and make a tool that would be better than Ryoby 18 volt tools that their battery can be charged much quicker in far less time I used it for one day and took it back for a refund I will not buy any more Black & Decker battery tools
Just purchased this blower about two days ago at the store. Brought it home, unpacked, and followed instructions to the letter. Today I finally had time to play with it. Fueled it up and took it outside. It started up just fine and ran well. The issue is performance. Even at full throttle it just doesn't blow well. I tried clearing the side of my driveway (just leaves) and it took several minutes to move just a few leaves. I have raked that same side of the driveway before and could have finished the whole thing in the time it took the blower to clear a few feet. I understand this is a small blower but even small blowers should outperform a manual rake. 170mph? I highly doubt it. I seen leaves fly more with a 50mph breeze. At the nozzle tip it may be around 100mph at full throttle. I suggest if you are going to spend the money, spend a little more on something better. The vibration reducing handle is a joke. It vibrates more than my old 2-cycle weed eater (from 1988) that has the same size engine and nothing to stop the vibration.
Received this unit 2 weeks ago and out of the box found broken air breather. Tried in vain to contact manufacture customer service as the phone info furnish not correct. I gave up after exhausting much of my time. Instructions say do not return to store. I am still without a blower.
