I installed four Mysa in-floor thermostats with no significant problems and have access to my settings, even from Mexico! However, floors seem cool most of the time even though the temperature is correct. Is this due to proportional heating where a lower average current is sent to the heaters? Also, the large size of the wall units places the reset button in an unreachable location against the door molding (for one unit only). A reset on the top of the unit would have been a better choice. Is there a way to lower the display brightness? Middle of the night, when very dark elsewhere, the bathroom is lit up by the temperature display.
Two things: these units actually turn my heaters on and off when they are supposed to and the app is usable. With all the crap out there these days that's really five stars right there. I removed all the built-in thermostats from my "smart" baseboard heaters which had buggy, unreliable control units and a worthless app and am much happier with the Mysa units. We have a total of a dozen regular units and one in-floor unit installed across two homes. It's been a couple of months and so far they have been reliable, I have only had one go offline and need to be reset. I have done a fair bit of home wiring and I found the installation tricky. The support docs and support people, although friendly, are really of no help. It's basically "Does your box look like this? No? Sorry can't help you." I had to spend some time learning how 240V works and tracing wires around to figure out how things had been wired but in the end I figured out all my circuits. Would have been easy work for an electrician I am sure. The energy consumption is a great feature. Hopefully it's accurate. We had a couple of units that weren't reading properly but they seem to have fixed themselves. The app is surprisingly usable on both Android and iPhone. It could definitely use a few small improvements but I trust they are still working on it. Again it's crazy the kind of garbage apps that a lot of products ship with, glad to see these guys spent the time to make a good one. Overall we are really happy with these and glad to support a Canadian company. Definitely recommend!
I've used the Mysa in floor thermostat this winter. Installation was not a problem, with proper and careful attention to the instructions all went well. I am very impressed with the design and construction. The connectivity and operation are excellent. I live in a forested area where power failures are common. The boot up and connection of the thermostat after a power outage was very good, heat instantly came on and the same temperature that was set before the outage was still registered. The data is very good and excellent for informing me on how to make adjustments to the heating schedule. In our case, we operate a passive house, so the data actually led me to the conclusion that setting one temperature with no setbacks would be the most efficient use of the heating. I may find springtime will change that, and it will be very easy to do with the app. The Mysa. Thermostat is a beautiful, perfectly functional thermostat.
Easy to install, including physical install and app setup. The unit is sleek in design and simple to use. The app has had a few issues but still fairly easy to use. Although the symbols in the app can be less than intuitive, the online support material explains everything. Installed the unit as replacement for existing programmable thermostat controlling in-floor heating which was not easy to reprogram!
I installed the in floor heating thermostat and it was easy. The shipping was on time.
Very nice device, worked flawlessly out of the box. This is my second unit, and I'm very satisfied. Too bad they don't sell through distributors.
Bought the thermostat couple months back for my bathroom, since we installed in floor heating. Has worked flawlessly ever since. I love the fact the body is much smaller than the baseboard heating unit.
Excellent product and very happy with the design and feature set. One small issue during installation was the design of the temperature probe wiring screws; they were too small and I found it difficult to insert the wires. I was also expecting a small screw driver to be included for the screw terminals as well. Overall, excellent product! Thank you!
My electrician swooned when he opened the Mysa box. So clean looking, so easy to install, so perfect for our mud room baseboard heat. Then he left me to take care of HomeKit. I'm persistent and after 10 or more attempts to connect with our 2.4 GHz channel, Mysa connected and is solid. But why not 5 GHz? Also, I wish it had the reset feature like Ecobee… you can punch up the heat for predefined times and walk by (or connect via app) and reset the heat back to baseline easily. I can also do verbal commands with the Ecobee, not with Mysa. The app interface is a bit meager, to be honest. Overall a delightful device. Thank you Canada :u1F1E8::u1F1E6:
