I live in the desert, where summer temps are way over 100° and sidewalks and parking lot pavements are hot enough to turn an egg to ash, not just fry it. At least twice a week I'm filling a cart with purchases and pushing it home across the aforementioned sidewalks and parking lot pavements. A cart I bought a year ago fell apart; the PLASTIC wheels had disintegrated due to the pavement's heat. The Narita cart was the only one I found (both online and in stores) that has METAL wheels. To boot, the basket metal is thicker and stronger than the first cart, and any I found in stores. It was easy to assemble, so the day I picked it up, I used it. So far, three people have asked me where I got the cart, and I've told them about walmart.com, and that they need the METAL wheels for our 112° days.
This is my second one. I have had the first one over a year and it was ran over by a van, which did minimal damage to the wheels only. The rest of it was not hurt at all. I still use it daily for hauling all kinds of things (groceries, firewood, etc). Got this one because I wanted another. Quality is excellent. Highly recommend this cart!
before buying this cart I had purchased another one and it was an absolute disaster. So I was quite weary when I ordered this one, But I was pleasantly suprised by the quality of this cart. After opening the shipping box I noticed all my parts where well organized and easy to access. It took a little longer to put together then I was expecting because while the directions where detailed and easily follewed they where really small and hard to see/read. The frame is sturdy heavy duty which I like- it does not have that tin feeling. The wheels are great quality . I put it through its paces right after purchase I walked a good mile over various surfaces and it handles like a trouper. If I had any complaint I guess it would be that the handle cushion might not last to long; it's made of foam. The only other thing is it does not turn on a dime. Oh one other thing I am pretty tall and have long legs and I find I do not have to crouch to use it, which is a huge bonus
I filled it full of groceries a 24 Pak soda,watermelon,10 lb.potatoes, meats canned goods etc. etc. pushed it home about a mile over railroad tracks. Unpaved alleys It was heavy and hot and uphill.the cart performed flawlessly I wish I could say the same about me. My 60 year old body needs more exercise so me and the cart will be out getting many workouts.
This cart exceeded my expectations. The wheels will never fall off as long as you "spread" the cotter pins when you install them. The 150 pound capacity is about right. You wouldn't want an old man like me to pull much more up a set of steps. Folds up compactly. Good spoked rims w/ rubber wheels. They smelled like new rubber for about a week but definitely not a problem. This review is for the Narita Jumbo Shopping Cart ONLY, not the smaller ones.
This is a sturdy cart with heavy duty wire wheels. Minimum assembly required and the instructions were clear. Our first trip with it was a 1/3 mile walk to the local Walmart where we purchased a 2.25 cu ft bag of potting soil. The cart handled the walk home exceptionally well. The bag of soil pretty much filled the cart and we walked on sidewalks, across grassy areas, uphill and downhill. Pushed it on the flat and level areas and pulled it uphill and across the grassy areas. I am very pleased with this product. Only two minor inconveniences. The plastic cover on the handle has a tendency to slide back and forth (a little duct tape fixed this) and the cart is a little large to fit into a store cart easily while you are shopping (I strapped it to the side of the store cart with a bungee cord, problem solved). Perfect for carrying large items or large loads to and from the store.
I think this is a wonderful product. A good sturdy cart that will help me bring my groceries home on the bus. However, there is one problem I had when assembling the wheels and axles. I was supposed to have 14 washers, but I only had 13. 1 washer was missing because the parts were loose in the box. One washer no doubt slipped out of the box and was lost during shipment. The plastic bag where the parts were supposed to be was ripped open. It's a wonder that more parts weren't missing. The little plastic bag was very thin and somehow it was ripped open. Washers and cotter pins were all over the inside of the box. I could not complete the assembly without it. To fix this situation, I had to go buy some washers at my local hardware store. I recommend to the factory to package the parts in a plastic bag that is much thicker so that there is no possibility of it ripping open thus loosing the parts.
I was very pleased how easy this was to put togehter. I am very happy I purchased this item, it has saved my back getting groceries up two flights of stairs.
The cart will work fine for me, I think, but it arrived with the box banged up, the hardware loose in the box, and two cotter pins missing. My husband had to rig something with paper clips.
Serves the over purpose which was to get groceries from the car into the house. I am disabled so this cart makes it easier, making one trip from the car rather than several. It is very easy to tip over if you put too much weight on it. Doesn't steer to well. It would work much better if the front wheels swiveled.
