I bought this cart to haul stuff for the arts and crafts fairs I do - lots of traveling over grass, rocks, steps, etc. Worked great, felt very sturdy. Was actually heavier and better quality than I thought it would be.
Larger and without a doubt sturdier than the little rinky dink cheapo models. Also has real rubber wheels with metal spokes not wheels made of plastic so I know it's not going to bust under pressure of full load. Love it!
I got this for my brother who has no car, to get to the local grocery store and laundry mat, without lugging around a huge backpack or duffle bag or heavy grocery bags. So far he really loves it, calls it his "Old man cart". No complaints, and so far it's living up to the other reviewsl
I have health issues, so I am not up to manhandling this up and down the porch steps, so I bought two of them. One is for use hauling things around inside my home, like laundry, and the other is to carry in the car for errands, and to use around the yard. They are bigger than I expected, but that's a help--they can haul more stuff at once. They seem sturdy, and the tires are good. They were fairly easy to assemble, but something sturdier than the flimsy cotter pins they came with would be better. They are easy enough to handle, and collapse for storing easily, and they come in several colors. The one big issue I have is the handle. Instead of a nice rubber sleeve on the the metal handle, they used some kind of cheap plastic thing, and it isn't even glued on. It slides around from one side to the other. I will fix it in place with duct tape, but they should have used a nice rubber sleeve instead. It's odd that they would make such a nice grocery/errand cart, and then go el-cheapo on the handle. This big model does weigh more than smaller versions, but I can handle boosting it into my car okay. It will take up a lot of room in smaller vehicles, though, even when collapsed. I have a very old SUV, and usually keep the back seat folded down, so it's not a problem for me. There will still be plenty of room for groceries in the car after a shopping run, even a big order. I gave it 5 stars because it is very nice, but I only gave it 4 points each for value and expectations, because of the handle grip. I would recommend it to anyone wanting one this big. Just remember to duct tape the ends of the plastic grip on the handle, to keep them from sliding around.
This cart is terrific, it is sturdy, the wheels are substantial, in essence it is up to the standards of the one I remember purchasing with my mom 40 years ago. My mom, who is 88 years old now, loves it. She basically uses it every day as a means to walk around and shop, etc., as she lives in the city. It actually is so great she relies on it the way she would a walker. She loads it up with bottles and donations she enjoys collecting for the church. The directions for assembly of the wheels aren't the greatest, but the pictures and your own common sense will help you put it together. My husband gave me some help, but I could have done it on my own. I've been looking for this cart for a long time because everything out there is cheap and plastic, and this cart is a dream come true for someone who wants a sturdy and reliable grocery/laundry cart. For anyone looking for a good quality cart, don't hesitate. The free shipping and the fact that I could have returned it to any Walmart store if it wasn't right, that was what made up my mind up to buy it, and I'm glad I did. I tried some of the trendy places and even places like Sears. Forget it, you couldn't find this cart there. Of all the places in the world, I wouldn't have expected to find it at Walmart, but I did. I will be looking at Walmart online from now on for other items, their prices are much better too. Thanks.
Directions were a little confusing at first, but after figuring them out, was put together easily. It is a strong, sturdy shopping cart that will hold alot and still be easy to pull.
I am quite happy with the cart. It is strong, unlike the many other carts I had researched. I had one of the type of cart that has a small basket on the rear, very convenient, but the quality of the construction of that style of cart is extremely poor, although the price does not reflect that.
I purchased this cart because I was moving to a third floor apartment. I waited until after my move to rate this product. I could not have done it without this cart. I made many loads, but they were made so much easier. I would recommend replacing the cotter pins, the ones that come with it are not strong enough. Eight new ones cost 60 cents. I use this cart almost every day for groceries, laundry, etc. It is a little hard to steer on four wheels, but if you tilt it back onto the rear wheels it is easy. I highly recommend it. Makes my life easier.
box was in bad shape with it arrived. It looked ok after put together, when it was in use it did have a small flat place on one of the front wheels. Cart is nice and has great space.
Yes it is heavier than most carts and it is larger but I doubt its going to fall apart for many many years. I had one with plastic wheels and that didn't stand up at all for heavy groceries. With steel wheels this should last as long as I live--need it. :-) Was a bit difficult to handle at first but caught on to it and works fine now. Have not used it going up or down steps yet but I think the larger back wheels will make that easier also. Son put it together and didn't take long at all and wasn't hard to do.
